Brief update - Its now just over 3 weeks since my operation which went really well. I'm almost back to normal and hope to start work again in the next week or 2.

I saw my oncologist today. The pathology results were encouraging, there was no vascular invasion but 3 local lymph nodes were found to be malignant. He has recommended 6 more cycles of chemo over the next 18 weeks - 2 on: 1 off. It doesn't make a huge difference to the stats for a good outcome but I would regret it if I say no now and it recurrs later.

So its going to be a memorable summer - Euro 2012 Finals, London Olympics, Queen's Golden Jubilee and I will be feeling nauseous through the whole thing.

Hopefully that will be the end of it apart from regular checks.
