Can I ask where you live? Is it the UK perhaps?
I CANNOT imagine 6 patients to a hospital room.
Years ago it was common to have 2-patients to a room here (in the US where we live), but within the past 10 years (min), with family members having at least a dozen hospital stays, we've always had private rooms. The 2nd "bed" (more of a pull out couch) was for a family member's comfort when staying overnight.

Hope you were able to be released Cofty...I just had surgery last month, and I wanted out the next day!! Hospitals are not very good places to recuperate and rest...have a speedy recovery!

Got to stay another day.. Left lung that they operated on is fine but the right one is leaking. Seems it was over inflated during surgery. Damn!
