Look at any religion today. Patterns in religion are evident.
People want security. People want "answers". They will look for an easy answer.
Religion is the answer, or opium, for the masses.
How big are Mormon's mistakes? Since its inception! Faulty foundation. Yet 15 million members.....
Islam? Don't get me started. But yet again, billions of members, spanning since the 8th century C.E. And to top it off, its growing.
The GB has already provided a smorgarseboard of mistakes for your family to have to ignor in order to stay in........ and they're still in.
If you want a family when you get out, you might have to push them out before you, coz they won't want to have an intelligent conversation with you once you're out.

There's larger, nuttier religions out there and they don't seem to be in any danger of disappearing. Such an odd world
Maybe if they have a stock portfolio and it is nasty like I imagine it might be and it became public, that might do it.

I'm thinking something "big" as in one of the Governing Body being caught in a major scandal, the 1914 date being done away with completely, etc.
As I mentioned, our family and friends are what's keeping us here for now. And this is why I take issue with the word "apostate" as it is used by the organization. Because so many who leave over doctrine and practices (as opposed to conduct) have a lot to lose, as we do.
Our son will likely be the "tipping point" one day. I can't imagine keeping up with this as he gets to school age and the issues of holidays, nationalism and "wordly" friends come up. And I don't want him to join the school, comment, become a publisher etc., and these will be things he will feel pushed to do as he grows up.
When the real GT hits, JW's teach that all false religion goes down and they are the last ones remaining. They will go down with the rest, and also many things of the GT will not happen as they have told, at that moment with the confusion, is when the Daniel prophecy takes hold, "those(plural)" having insight will shine and give understanding to the many. Until that happens, the GB has made many mistakes, and people can be released if they decide that the bible is the final authority and see for their own eyes what the GB teaches and what the bible teaches are not in harmony.
I think the real test will be the next major blunder during the internet age. If 1975 or even the generation change of '95 had occurred after 2000, the impact would have been far greater IMO.

His issue should be whether, or not, the WT was selected in 1919, not whether, or not, he can have fun with his mates, etc..

Dissent on the GB , serious dissent. men like to fight, sometimes there are Congo wars, maybe something like that. ( star wars, bar wars, congo wars)
What other religion in history ever taught the world will belong to only their own adherents soon? If there really is a common subconsciousness that all people share what kind of havoc does that belief cause in humanity? Nothing good I say.
