Does anyone remember the Folk Album that had the Awake in the background of the man and woman singers, circa 1968-9.
Does WT do this on purpose or are they just out of ideas? 2012 Special Talk

the truth is mine
From personal experience I think that many of the newer born ins and converts are not aware of the actual history and teachings that predate the 80s. If you mention the 607 insanity or 1975 or how bat shit nuts Rutherford was they have no clue what you are talking about and I think the guys in NY know this so they are not worried about beating a dead horse with repeated nonsense.
On another note I remember working on public talks and finding the same crap repeated over and over verbatim just decades apart. It always made me laugh at how unoriginal the writers were. They just cannibalized earlier peoples nonsense.

the truth is mine: They just cannibalized earlier peoples nonsense.
I think REGURGITATED is the word you mean!
Of course, maybe you're right. First they ate it, they they shit it out ... Dinner is served! - Matt. 24:45

BTW, for the sake of clarity: The Maria Muldaur album, Pottery Pie, was released in 1968.

the truth is mine
00DAD-Very true REGURGITATED is probably the more fitting expression. But it shouldn’t surprise us that they are just repeating old themes, they have been doing it forever.

My mother has some older bound volumes. I think I'm going to go dig the 1968 Watchtower bound volume out for her. Wow,interesting, they predicted the title of the Special talk in 2012!

OTWO- I think Sir 82 had the right idea on what causes this to keep happening. The turnover of people always changing in this organization is incredible. Most of the newbie JW's that have come into the Witnesses since 1980 are probably NOT aware of failed predictions by the WT society . WT society just wishes 1975 would go away like a bad dream . So WT society leaders know that if they use the same lingo from a 1968 article - most newbie JW's won't ever know . I feel it's the same way they are getting away with the generation changes . Some long time JW's don't accept the generation changes , but if they've become JW's in the last 5 years or so - they are still in the " honeymoon " phase with the Jehovah's Witnesses.
So- yes, they do this on purpose. They know many JW's are so mind controlled and mentally dependent on the WT society to do all their thinking for them- no one will notice
