Sorry about your parental situation, it sucks the big one.

You know what would be great, if you called them up and invited them over for some evil aposta-turkey (and call it that too); ask them if they could bring a dish too, maybe a big steaming hot bowl of guilt and some extra self righteousness covered in watchtowers to serve it on.

MMM, soooo jealous you have aposta-turkey, DROOOOOL!

I would love to do that but hubby ain't going for it after my mother belligerently screamed that she wishes he was dead.

No offence intended, but your mom sounds like one of those faux love JWs.

It’s cringe-worthy whenever I hear someone say that witlesses have the truth because they have love. Yeah right, maybe love for themselves. I think JWs believe that their so-called clean standing with God (given to them by the borganization) entitles them to treat others, who don’t “believe”, in a downright despicable manner because somehow they’re beneath them. What a hypocritical crock of crap!

Your parents have no right/entitlement to treat you or your husband in that manner; my heart goes out to you.

"Wonder if they thought your turkey was demonic??? "

At this point FS I wouldn't put it pass them. Hubby thinks the idea of a demonic frozen turkey is totally hilarious.

The best I can do, because this has been ongoing for 20 years and I know that I can't change my parents, is to avoid them as much as possible and limit the amount of exposure of my kids.

Ms. Jones, with great respect and sympathy - what in the hell was that turkey doing in their freezer in the first place?

I didn't have space for it in the frig I had at my old apartment. I had planned to cook it for thanksgiving but received another smaller turkey that I decided to cook instead. My daughter had stayed with my parents over the thanksgiving break (which I allowed only because my sister was going to be there also - she's not a jw and fully aware of the craziness of my parents and she assured me she would take care of my daughter) so when my mother dropped my daughter off I asked if she could store the turkey. It was the best I could do at the moment because my parents have two large freezers. I do not make a habit of storing my food at my parents' house. It was only one turkey.
