Perhaps I am lacking in courage, so I won't reply.

You are definitely lacking in that area, allow me to explain why.

Almost 9,000 years ago a man, who is now part of Chinese mythology, wrote down how to conquer the world. He wrote it after living a life in a culture that was swept away by a large tsunami. His writings were inspired by great woes on par with what has recently happened in Japan or Haiti. Suffering in his writings is part of conflict, which is needed to get to the steps which transcend conflict. The oldest known document of his writings is written on turtle scapula shells.

Around the same time all the way across the world in the South American continent lied a culture who had a peculiar form of divination. We refer to it today as scapulimancy. What these ancient people were doing was heating up scapula's that had been inscripted with a symbol or group of symbols. At a certain heat the bones would crack and then the heat would be removed. Then a trained magician would interpret the cracks in the bone. They used it to try to commune with the spirits of the earth in order to understand where they were in the process of life. To them, just like people today, life was a mix of blessings and curses and they sought to understand how it all worked. There is an interesting thing about this ancient South American culture, however, they had no war. They had two types of governments throughout their time: economic and idealogy. Both had strengths and weaknesses, but neither faciltated violent disputes.

A great change came to this culture with the invention of a proto-writing archive process ("Hey what if we USED those big flat bones to keep our history instead of just throwing them away?). With the invention came a system of truth keeping and of lie keeping. Because once you write something down and get agreeance how do you unwrite it? Destroying a governmental archive is not really a viable option. So, our ancestors took the good with the bad of proto-writing technology.

What eventually happened though is that the lies overtook the truths and they ended up with corruption. Today systems of government, like the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, end up with skeletons in their closets because of people trying to hold in the truth that they have been lying for thousands of years. That's why people are going crazy right now all around the world. That's why we are seeing uprisings galore. The internet is bringing it all forth and that comes with good effects and bad effects. It's change. Long ago we used to be a people who were peaceable with a knack for settling disputes without violence. But, for every bright idea there are unimaginable ramifications for generations to come.

Which brings me to you and your religion that worships the Staff God, the god of the Lie. How can I be so bold, you ask? I wish I could dig up a transcription of the sales pitch I was presented at a convention about the Jehovah's Witnesses "amazingly new printing press." This printing press was so state of the art that it could print magazines like crazy, and with less workers! Of course you just sent those workers home with nothing for the most part, just like the Staff God with do with his young, while you oggle at your shiny new printing press. Did you make it in the shape of a scapula bone? That would be cool. It should at least have one inscribed somewhere.

You see, you worship a machine and that's not very courageous. What would be courageous, however, is if you threw Emperor Palpatine over that railing because he's trying to kill the people who God loves. He tried to convince us to worship interpretations of bone cracks, he succeeded in getting us to fight with each other and now he is trying to kill us because we wont budge.

Djeggnog, I'm not joking; I sincerely want to know what you were trying to communicate in that original.

I think your multiple choice is inane, but just compare #1 with #2 and you should be able to figure out the word in #2 you should use to "fill in the blank" in #1.

And yet you apparently have diffuculty answering it(?).

Is my question really that lost on you? Me, myself, and I already know what word I would and should use to "fill in the blank", but it serves no purpose in determining what word you think should be used.

This one thinks possessive pronouns like "his" are possessive nouns.

Wrong again. I keep referring you to your original, which did contain a possessive noun "slave's". Perhaps you need to slow down when you read these elementary questions you seemingly have difficulty answering.

So, apparently you've come down to options A and B as your intended 'possessive noun' in your original. So which is it Djeggnog?

You can keep your condescending insults coming, I trust they come from your heart and are sincere.

Djeggnog: ...it is by means of holy spirit that the "faithful and discreet slave" (Matthew 24:45-47), as represented by the Governing Body, received its appointment to preside over the ___???___'s "domestics"...

Djeggnog, which of the following is/are the appropriate possessive noun(s) that communicates the intended meaning of your above quote?

    A) Slave's

    or

    B) Master's

    (drum roll please)

(What I find interesting in all this, is that I simply read something djeggnog wrote and I sincerely wondered if it was a typo, or if I was misunderstanding what he was trying to communicate, or whatever the case might have been.

It wasn't even supposed to be a big deal. In an attempt to find out, I feel like he dances around the simple issue I bring up and avoids committing to a clear and simple answer that can be reduced down to one word. I don't even think this is a controversial issue.

As he seemingly misses the point and avoids answering my question in the same sense that I intended, I feel I have to simplify the question more and more, and now it is so simple that he is apparently insulted by it, yet still hasn't answered it in the same sense that it was asked.)

I apologize to anyone I've frustrated by this. This whole thing could have been cleared up with a one-word answer, but unfortunately...

I'm going to humor you here, but I'm done humoring you, so after this post, if you're still stuck, you're going to have to ask someone else to help you.

LOL! Djeggnog, if you can't answer this elementary question as to your intended meaning, how is anyone else going to?

AND, if you can't answer an elementary question as to your intendedmeaning on a sentence you formed, I certainly won't be able to trust you on sentences found in the Bible which you didn't form.

    pharmer,

In this - as in all his other posts - DjDamnFool has made an artform of the old principle

    I get it! lol

(Sorry it took so long Djeggnog...it must have been your condescending attitude and insults that helped clarify what you really meant). ;)

    What you said was:

Djeggnog: ...it is by means of holy spirit that the "faithful and discreet slave" (Matthew 24:45-47), as represented by the Governing Body, received its appointment to preside over the slave's "domestics"...

But since you admit the master (not the slave) is the one that 'owns' the "domestics" and that the "domestics" are the slave's fellow slaves (not owned by the slave, but rather by the master), what you really meant was:

...it is by means of holy spirit that the "faithful and discreet slave" (Matthew 24:45-47), as represented by the Governing Body, received its appointment to preside over the master's slave's fellow slaves...

Ahhh...feels so good to finally have figured out your meaning. Thanks for your help Djeggnog -- insults, false accusations/assumptions and all! ;)

(And to think it originally had me confused)

    lol, thanks Bill.

Often times, I think understanding comes down to defining the terms. Unfortunately, the terms and their definitions are sometimes ambiguous.

Now I see why DJ has to ramble on so much in his posts. . .

    TS wrote

The Bible is very clear, that Jehovah will save, [anoint] men and women, who are not [affiliated] with the Watchtower.

And a very small part of DJ's reply was:

This is also not true. First of all, Jesus is responsible for mankind's salvation, for just as Jesus stated at John 5:26, God has granted to Jesus "to have life in himself," so Jehovah isn't involved in anyone's salvation at all. Secondly, there is no one that has received an anointing or is yet anointed by holy spirit that would not be affiliated with Jehovah's Witnesses.

See the unsupported assertion? (I bolded it) The rest of the dreary waffle is meant to distract from gems like this.
