OUTLAW- very true. If JW's don't suffer- then WTS isn't happy about their efforts ! Jehovah's Witnesses are one of the most " martyr filled " organizations I've ever seen. By the way - I PMed an answer to your PM from a couple weeks ago. Thanks

The WTS wants 'cloned' Christians. The WT 'program' it one size fits all. To them, one work (formal door to door) fits all. Children, to them, must behave as at least a 30 yr. old or so in this 'program.'

All must be entirely dissatisfied with this life. Any interest or action otherwise is open for possible counseling. Any interest to create a talented or initial education for a more valued or helpful work for human health, needs, values in this 'generation' is questioned.

Concern for aging is considered nonsense. Obviously, many members have died since the WT beginnings of 1870s. Yet, they refuse to learn the reality and genuine concern for their members.

    Great thread as usual!

My uncle passed away about a month ago at 85 years old. He served as an Elder for close to 50 years. He plowed his field and worked for the WTS without ever seeing any benefits for his labor. The WTS promised him that ''his generation would not pass away'' and ''the end was always around the corner.''

My uncle worked jobs that promised him no Saturday,Sunday work,no nights,no overtime, and time off without pay so he could pioneer in the summer months. He went to all summer conventions in New York, Canada, and even California for three days. Besides the conventions,he never took his family on a vacation.

The only material he ever read was Watchtower related. He never read any books, magazines,or newspapers. I went to his house in his last days and he would be seen reading the Bible. He never went out to any movies, plays, concerts, picnics, restaurants, and sporting events because he was too busy being an Elder and pioneering when his work would let him. When he retired at 65,he pioneered until he was 83 years old. He would still go out in service even when he couldn't walk any longer.

He maintained ''a complete heart towards Jehovah WTS'' and never reaped any benefits! What a sad day it was when they lowered his coffin in the ground and saw that all his work for this corportation was a lie! All he did was work for a book publishing and real estate corporation!

I think I had some really inflamed sinus problems which may have backed up the calcium crystals in my inner ear to stop the cilia from sending nerve ending messages to my eyes and motor reflexes to tell my body to move in sync with my eyes. That's what happens in Vertigo and then it causes dizziness and nausea.

Yep....I think a sinus infection caused my only bout with it. You haven't had nausea until you had vertigo nausea. Very bad condition. Get well.

I agree Baltar, they seem to really be getting nuttier. The more recent magazines are really "out there". Of course, all JW's who read the magazines will say how it "certainly is food at the proper time!" And "It's just what we need!"

Great thread a always Flipper(Glad your feeling better btw)!

I find it interesting that the public edition of the WT on pages 28-30 has a section entitled "Life in Bible Times-the Farmer". It is interesting that it makes no such mention of "longing for the 'world'". Rather, it encourages the reader to "read the cited scriptures, and see what you learn."(pg. 28) Of course, membership is not so free to "see what you learn"...especially if it is a contradiction to the GB's interpretations.

It's truly rotten how the Watchtower brainwashes young people into sacrificing their best young years as 'pioneers' to waste their time knocking on empty doors half the week or visiting a few weirdos on return visits. Twisting their natural potential and desire for higher education, good careers, a normal family with children and a mortgage. It staggers me that so many still fall for it.

Sometimes I imagine the writing con-nittee sitting around discussing just how to push the CRAZY envelope.

The best part is most witlesses haven’t noticed!

That’s some good ol’ fashioned mind control right there, cause nothin’ says love and truth like unjustified obligatory blind servitude!

So the WT takes another hefty swipe at those JWs who have the temerity to desire some semblance of normality and personal fulfillment in their lives. ... it just gets nuttier and nuttier...

Watching David Splane in action 12 years ago with his pounding the podium railing against the nice JWs motivational talk was the last straw.
