GAYLE- Good point. WTS wants cloned members, very true. One size fits all. WT society leaders NEVER let JW members enjoy the here and now- the present moment. They want them dissatisfied like you said and sad faced. It's appalling and atrocious how they disregard the older people among them. Especially in regards to health care or lack thereof.

RULES & REGULATIONS- Thanks. I think the example of your 85 yr.old JW uncle who just died is so common among aging JW's that it's a terrible reality they all share. I think of my JW parents in their mid 80's after 60 years in this organization and what do they have to show for it ? Unfulfilled dreams and unfulfilled false promises were made to them. They were lied to. So was your uncle. They were supposed to be " this generation that wouldn't pass away " like you stated and it never happened. The harder thing to wrap our minds around - at least for me - is that they were duped but they don't even REALIZE they were duped. In my opinion that makes the WT society even MORE criminal in their deception and tactics.

STILLSTUCKCRUZ- Thanks. I agree I think the WT society is getting nuttier as well. Really going out on a limb these days. Interesting that the WT points JW' s to look at the cited scriptures in the one article you mentioned- usually the WT emphasizes their OWN slants and takes on any scriptures they quote- even if it's taken out of context or twisted to meet their own views.

YADDA YADDA 2- Very true what you say about the WT society wasting young peoples lives and years when they could be getting a decent education to help in getting a good paying career . It's criminal in my mind how they use fear and guilt to persuade not only the young people but all the JW's to serve out of fear. But unfortunately that's what all mind control cults do. WT society is no different. But that's why so many JW's don't see through it as a scam- they are being mind controlled to the ultimate by the WTS.

DISILLUSIONED LOST LAMB- I'm sure the WT writing committee is pushing the crazy envelope to the max. They are desperate to retain members so they amp up the threatening Nazi like control and use of fear of punishment at Armageddon and throw in things like Satan the Devil - even when talking about just enjoying your family ! It's absolutely insane. What's " worldly " or " dangerous " about enjoying your home, family, friends, food, music , or shade ? Nothing ! Yet the sly WT society writers slide it in there as IF it's dangerous so JW's secretly have fear instilled into them very subtly . Sick, sick .

ROOM 215- Exactly. If you are a JW and desire a normal life now - you are being looked at as evil or wicked. Can't desire a family, can't desire a wife, can't desire a home or food, can't desire a job, can't desire shade. I mean what else left IS THERE ? WT society is pulling the rug or carpet right out from under rank & file JW's and they are too mind controlled to see it ! Really annoys me.

DESIGNS- Wow ! Really ? Splane slammed his fist on the podium ? Jesus. Didn't Hitler do the same thing ? LOL ! All they want is slaves in the jW organization. It's one way the WT society has attained such wealth- all free , volunteer slave labor. Really disgusting.

WHA HAPPENED ? - I think you are right WT society is getting crazier and I think it's because they're more desperate to control JW's. The Internet scares WT leaders to death because they don't want their dirty secrets getting out. Good. I hope they stay scared. Because the flow of information is NOT going to stop. That "illustration" is absolute insanity. Even if I were a JW, I would STILL be able to see just how misapplied this is. A better illustration would have been of Lot's wife who looked back in longing, and turned to a pillar of salt. Longing for sinful things, sinful life, I could understand an illustration like that, and I think we all could. Overindulgance in gambling, drinking, drugs, and other harmful addictions is destructive and not beneficial. But to actually have the gall to claim that thinking about your family, home, (education or career missed?) is SINFUL and will cause you to lose favor in Jehovah God's eyes? That is just plain down whacky mind-controlled sh*t right there!!

As a matter of fact, I'd say that that is so over the top, that I almost wonder if there isn't a member of the "conscious class" on the Writting Committee inserting a few "wake-up calls" into the articles? I hope so, because you have to think that some of this more hard-line Jim Jones type speech would really start to wake a few Rank & File up, especially those doubting or on the fence.

Yes......Jim Jones would be a good comparison, and rightfully so.....after all, they are selling off all of their Brooklyn property and heading to some compound up in the hills aren't they to live in a man-made Paradise? Yep....nuts!

It is nicely positioned that the family are a barrier to effective ministry, an obstacle. This will be the same family that has made huge sacrifices already to allow members to spend time and resources on theocratic things. The family are depicted as the weak link after all if they were truly spiritual then they would be out ploughing the field too. Once again a wedge is being driven into the family their opinion counts for nothing, their concerns count for nothing, they are nothing.

This article is way of getting people to focus solely on the task and not to trust themselves or others who start to say why are we ploughing this barren field when we could be doing productive, meaningful work elsewhere?
