Was A Cancer Cure Quietly Eliminated?

The baking soda sounds good - it gets rid of the acid buildup in the body which the cancer thrives in -- eat foods that keep the body in an alkaline state and theoretically, no cancer can grow -- beef and other foods high in acid are not good for a regular diet... have it sparingly

No medicine "cures" anything. It is the human body restoring balance where there is imbalance.

Medicine removes certain obstacles which may be in the way to the restorative process.

But, once the body turns on itself.......

Oh dear! Maybe try some blood-letting just for good measure.

Lulz. The baking soda urban myth has been thoroughly debunked.

There is nothing odd about the idea that interfering with cancer cell reproduction might be a broadly applicable treatment. This was the rationale for the development of Taxol because it interferes with microtubule development. Apparently, this lost drug had a similar action.

If this action is interfered with, the result may be apoptosis - cell self destruction.

If anyone quotes the mentioned studies to cite a lack of broad studies on humans - that's the point. This drug showed promise and was discontinued for reasons we can only guess. And it's not the only one so treated....

    Not by a long shot..

Lots of drugs don't go into clinical development right away, even promising ones. Some only surface years later. Happens all the time. Development is extremely expensive.

    Doesn't surprise me....

The medical industry in America is just that - an industry, dedicated to INCREASING the demand for its services....

As to a single "cure", as Burn the Shipts pointed out, there's a wide array of cancers...

But a medicine that would interfere with the replication of cancer cells would probably have a wide application against most cancers...

Someone should bring this thread to Cofty's attention...

Cofty has posted on this thread...

..and a wide variety of therapies exist that prevent cancer cell replication. This is another one, and it isn't clear based on what I've seen that it is necessarily more efficacious than what is out there presently. Could be. We don't know. We'd need human trials to find out.

Actually, if one looks at a list of foods that "alkalize" the body, versus foods that "acidify" the body, the foods that are fairly well-known as "cancer fighters", are largely on the "alkali" side of the scale...

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Laymen evaluating science should scare us all.

I was raised in a family where my grandfather self-diagnosed and self-treated.

He was the layman's layman. He read voraciously.....crackpots.

If a thousand mg's of Vitamin C was "good" he'd up that ten times.

His reasoning: it is ten times the benefit!

He took handsful of vitamin capsules every day and spend thousands of dollars.

    He died of stomach cancer.

He use to say THE DOCTORS don't want to cure you, they just want your money.

Is there any wonder I ended up in a crackpot cult after growing up around this indictment of humanity?

The willingness to attribute wrong motive to others and to see CONSPIRACY is a breeding ground for cults.
