I can't make the connection, sorry.

Give to Caeser what is Caeser's and to God what is God's.

Shows to me that God couldn't care less about money or ta x es or 'things'. He cares about the spirit, the heart, the inside of the cup. Caeser can have the things that don't matter... God cares about the things that DO matter.

Try to think about people who have had foreign armies enter their homeland and rape, murder and imprison the people and then be told to pay them taxes. Germany invading Poland, France, Hungary etc.. Lost personal family in the Shoah (Holocaust), April 19th is Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Its ok if you don't get it.

They were already paying ta x es, Designs. Christ had nothing to do with that.

Nor does that change that he said that give to Caesar what is Caesar's in connection with saying Give to God what is God's. Sort of like tossing someone (a theif even) your coins... here, take it if it means so much to you. It means nothing to me. Nothing to God. You have chosen the thing that matters nothing at all.

Also, you will notice that those who asked the question of Him in regard to ta x es, were trying to trip him up; trying to find an e x cuse to hand him over to the authorities. At least that is how the account reads. So not only did he not fall for their ploy, he also turned their ploy into a lesson about what is of true importance.

Well, I'm talking to you. So if I have said something that is incorrect, then please correct me. Because I don't even know what you're referring to you in the above post... do some historical research on what in particular?

We were talking about the anti-semitism in the NT, find The Complete Book Of Jewish Knowledge by Ausubel or some equally authoritative work.

Regarding Jesus driving Jews out of the Temple the account in John 2:15 says he made a whip out of leather cords

Regarding Jesus driving Jews out of the Temple the account in John 2:15 says he made a whip out of leather cords

I quoted John 2:15 on the last page.

And if we are talking about anti-semitism in the NT, then we should be able to find it IN the NT, shouldn't we? I fail to understand how a Jewish man with Jewish disciples and apostles can be accused of anti-semitism. This makes zero sense to me.

Can people have become anti-semitist later? Of course, and we know that some did. But the one they claim to follow never taught that; and was, Himself, a Jew. Who loved his brothers and his sisters.

I understand it makes no sense, christians for centuries believed their Bishops to their accept the charges against innocent Jewish people or The Christ Killers. Prayers were offered exclaiming 'The perfidy of the Jews'. Think of a Benedict Arnold and maybe what is being discussed here will have some relationship, or as I suggested read jewish works where they point out the offending verses and the actions taken because of them by christians.

This is a good week to study this subject, April 19th.

I will get my hands on that book you mentioned. But like I said, people had to ignore Christ, His teachings, his love for Israel and the Jews, as well as his disciples and the apostles (all Jews)... in order to come to an anti-semitic stance. No doubt it happened, Designs... but it didn't come from any of them.
