this "place" you describe is a lot like the mount where all the baal worshippers met (1 kings 18:20)

A deceitful quotation of 1 Kings you have there. The account is of King Ahab and his 450 prophets verses Elijah and Obadiah. Both groups believe to be prophets of the One True God and therefore only one can be right. This is settled by each group being challenged to summon fire from the heavens to consume a bull offering. So, in light of that account which YOU brought up I ask you "michelle", if that's your real name, can you please call down fire from heaven and consume something? You could use YouTube to post the ritual. If you cannot then I would suggest taking your judgemental stupidity someplace else. This place is nothing like any of the evil characters depicted in the Old Testament and you are a fool for making the comparison.

It is easy(ier) to get along with and show respect to like-minded people. It is much harder to get along with and show respect for people whose world view is different (and sometimes even opposite) of your own.

    What a noble sentiment . . .

What do you think churches are for? They are comprised of people who gather together to support their own particular mindset and or worldview.

It is interesting to note that many people who resist information that opposes their faith, or special view of spirituality, jump fully and enthusiasticaly into a website that presents a complete spectrum of views.

Have you done any research on Middle-Eastern volcanoes lately?

Observing over the past few year what I find consistently interesting is each believer's god described exactly how they want them to be and quite like their own personality.

He is benevolent/forgiving and loving, (scripturally supported); he is jealous/vengeful and intolerant, (scripturally supported). Each believer is going to tell you what their god is going to do, (scripturally supported), and no two believer's god ever has the same agenda.

Just my observation. I still want to believe but having a difficult time with the different offerings.

Edited to add: I love this place. I have met new friends and found old friends here I hope I will have for the rest of my life. I don't want to read thoughts of people who think just like I do. I like to be challenged and find things to question and think about. My beliefs have taken a 180 since I've come on this board, but it's not because of the board...it's my own journey.

Hi Mrs. Jones. This is Zid speaking to you from beyond the computer grave . . . yard.

I'm speaking thru a "spiritualist" surrogate. It's actually rather nice here. All the beer that I can drink, not that I like beer.

Looking forward to seeing all of you when I'm cyber-resurrected.

Thank you, Tam. I love this place. It had gotten to be a real war zone, which was unpleasant greatly, but things have seemed to calm down with some posters taking breaks and the rest of us trying to be more peaceful with each other.

I have some scriptures to counter the caustic ones. These scriptures support the Christian Universalist point of view, which is that all are "saved", not just believers. Just some to get you started:

    • For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope
on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of
      believers. (1 Tim. 4:10)
    • For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to
      all. (Romans 11:32)

    • For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing
of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not of
its own will, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the
creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption
into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that
the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together
      until now. (Romans 8:19-22)

    • 1 Corinthians 15:22 "As in Adam all die, in Christ ALL will be made alive."

Colossians 1:20. "For in him [Christ] all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself ALL things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."

This is good for anyone, including atheists who want to refute damnation believers, who is interested in the idea that the Bible supports the idea that ALL will find their way back to God's love. It addresses scriptures that people use to support salvation of all and it answers the ones people use to support God saving only some.

Hello Michelle (and I apologize because your thoughts were addressed to Tammy)

....You are absolutely right in that true healing of the spirit and body comes from our lord and savior! He is the great physician.

We are blessed to have that to share in common.

Although not everyone here has that, they may have something that may fulfill their spiritual need. Whether or not we agree with it, (and i think that is what Tec is saying) we CAN agree to disagree at times, shake hands and walk away, and although there may be completely different beliefs, we are told from our Lord to love them anyways! Aren't we.

Don't you think that calling this place, "a place pf abomination" seems to be a harsh judgement call, that if need be, belongs to the discernment of the one that "DIED" for these individuals.

And since I know I can't read individuals hearts, (and people can change), if you do have light and love to share, how do you know among the vasteness of people here, who MAY be the ONE to receive it?? And if there is EVEN only ONE, wasn't it all worth it??

And it is a site that you seem to be visiting possibly regularly. So what is actually your motive in supporting a place of adomination?

To share your savior? (put it out there and see what Jah does with it) or Judge? .............Jus saying (sorry)
