Michelle, everyone is on his or her own journey. I respect that you are on your unique faith journey. I don't agree that God said he condemns anyone though. Viva la difference. I think people made that up because they think it's easier to get people to obey laws and rules if they are afraid.
Just wanted to say...

Actually FHN is nice but Mylene is right.
Bible god is a vengeful monster whose wrath was appeased by the sight of Jesus' bloody body on the cross.
So I agree with Mylene but I would spit on her god and have a drink with FHN.

EmptyInside
Well,I'm thankful for this board. I think I still would be lost and alone in the borg, still empty inside. I feel it's still a long road ahead for me,and I got a late start. But,now,I'm armed with knowledge and like-minded ones to join me off and on on my journey to freedom, and my new life.
I find that if one is sure of their beliefs, they won't feel threatened when others disagree. I think too, being a Witness for so long we were told what to think, and how to feel about things and the world around us. Now,that we have the freedom to have our own mind,we have formed some very strong opinions. But,it's all good,it's just best to discuss it in a constructive way.

dear FHN...
Gods prophets (and Jesus) called people to repentance throughout the entire bible...so whether you agree with it or not doesn't make it less true or needful. (john 3:19)
Call it a different path, or a journey or whatever "spiritual" sounding name you want...God is not asking us to do something we are incapable of. He is precisely calling us TO repent and turn from our own path. The account of philip and the eunich makes it hard to deny that we are encouraged if not expected to repent once we've heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Part of following Jesus is counting the cost...scripture says you can't remain a friend of God and a friend of the world...you either love what is going on here with all the different gods and lose your soul OR you love the Almighty God. (james 4:4)
it is interesting that you say you don't recognise any one holy book but you freely quote the one that talks about salvation and the Saviour IF and when it suits your "la difference"...which isn't that different from, "surely God didn't say..."
...why are you so easily led by those with a different gospel but brush off the true and complete gospel of Jesus Christ?
love michelle

I take that as a very high compliment.
The Bible god has a split personality. At times it is murderous and others it is love. I'll take a Love god anytime. I'm not one who believes the Bible is God's own handwritten and self authored book. Growing up going to the Episcopal Church, I never believed that God was angry and hateful. From my earliest memories I was a Universalist and I had never heard about it from anyone. I just knew what made sense. Unconditional love makes sense. I viewed God like a loving and allwise parent. It was very far from Jehovah, that is for sure.

I am doing this to point out that the Bible has other, very different things to say about God and salvation, that do not agree with your god. So which god is the Bible god? Look at those scriptures I quoted. They are in stark contrast to your ideas.

How much longer will the God of heaven tolerate this "place" before He brings judgement upon those in its midst?
LOL . . . this really is a fun thread isn't it?
