You stated: "I am embarrassed that our country has not only overwhelmingly embraced the death penalty, but has also elected a man who as Governor of Texas presided over more executions than any other governor in our history."

Your Inference here is...? what is your point here? I now use the word "implied" that goes with my use of "somehow".....

    ThiChi,

    Your original accusation follows:

You made the claim that Texas is somehow over killing the killers. You are just plain wrong. Your uninformed claims is what is really wasting space here. Please get your facts right....
My quote doesn't even come close to "implying" that "Texas is somehow over killing the killers." It appears that you might have left the JWs, but their teachings are still influencing your conduct. Similar to the JWs, you've tried to weasel out of your false statements, but this is an apostate board, and we won't let you do that here.

I won't respond further as there is no point debating with someone who fabricates statements, attributes them to me, and then responds to his own fabrication.

BTW, the Brit was executed. ThiChi, maybe you should hold a celebration for this loss of life, and you can revel in the emotional trauma presently being experienced by the decedent's relatives.

So he's dead. Justice was served. He lived way too long as it was.

I think we should send a bill to Tony Blair and the Brits for the upkeep of this piece of human feces. I'm all for the death penalty, why should society be billed to house, feed, clothe, and take care of these people. We need to consult with Saudia Arabia and see how they handle people who kill other people. Iran too perhaps, Iraq??? The more dead the merrier. Lets get rid of death row, kill em all I say. Execution alleviates society from the need to take care of them.

I believe Romans 13:1-4 says it all. I have a younger brother on death row in San Quentin the past 11 years. Murdered a girl in broad daylight at a photo booth in a parking lot, tortured her and to top it off, brought my 2 year old nephew with him when he did it.Got caught 2 years after the murder when the murder was aired on Americas Most Wanted program.A girl friend in Texas where he was hiding turned him in for the reward. High profile trial in Santa Clara County Ca back in 91'.He was raised a witness but never baptized. Tried to murder both our parents prior as well as raped both my little sisters.I'm all for letting the "Superior Authorities" do their job.

This is a classic American/European divide thing.

Most American's can't see why the death penalty isn't right.

Most Europeans can't see why the death penalty is right.

Geordie;"He got his after me and an associate of mine paid him a visit. He spent longer in hospital than she did.
    Was that justice?"

Nah, mate, that's vengence, and vengence is sweet, but it's not justice. However, I'd have done the same thing if I was persoanlly involved, so a virtual pint is coming your way...

My limited oppossition to the death penalty is not that it's racist (it isn't) but that it's economically biased. Those with high speed expensive lawyers don't get the death penalty. Further, it's MUCH CHEAPER to keep a convict in prison for LIFE than it is to execute them due to all the built in appeals, etc. Life in prison without the possibility of parole is a good call for my money.

    Good point Yeru.

Although, I think it is difficult to find a boundary between classism and racism...so often, the effects of classism seem to lend themselves to racial inequity as well.
