It would be an appearing in the sky of a note that says God cured cancer. Even then I could imagine skeptics.

Not as much as you might think if people were all cured of cancer when the note appeared.

Oh, there would still be problems. Preachers galore would tell us what we must do now that "God" has proved himself, how we should follow their rules and give our money. The most avid "believers" now would reject the proof if "God" was not what they expected. But atheists mostly would stop doubting the existence of a higher power and would ask for answers to questions like "Where have you been all this time we were suffering, and why do you want to help us now?"

I guess alot are undercover Maltheists. They hate God or at least the concept of God. And that would apply.

I suggest it is easier to build a case for this belief, on the evidence, than one of an all-wise, all-knowing, all-powerful, loving creator.

I'm not Maltheist however . . . I'm Athegnostic. It's my own label and I won't accept any other. If you don't know what it means then make something up . . . you will anyway.

Gnostics believe that. There are a few gnostic churches around. I know that there is at least one in montreal. Check around.
