The point tec is that you have formed an emotional bond with someone such that you now accept them as a conduit for supernatural messages. That's what religion is.

Here's the thing (those of you who take issue with this particular form of faith, that has no religious affiliation/denomination/affiliation - peace to you!):

You (those mentioned above, in case anyone is confused) are finding us... and our beliefs... a conundrum. This is because you had your arguments and debates against religion, etc., "down pat." You were able to counter whatever "believers" might have presented to you. Indeed, you have shut the mouths of many a "believer" because you are veritable walking "Reasoning Against the Scriptures" book. You consternation exists, however, because NOW... you can't use your usual arguments, examples, rebuttals and refutations... which you have used perhaps for years to silence those you disdain for still having "faith" after you've manages to discard yours... in this new situation. Because... they don't work.

"But," you say, "They MUST work! Because ALL faith is the same; all belief is the same - it's all religion and so it's all the same... and I can bring on a checkmate using my regular strategies in just a few moves! So YOU folks need to change your beliefs BACK... to those WE are used to, the ones MOST "believers" have... because we don't understand/know how to respond to what you're saying here!"

And so, your usual bag of tricks don't work... and that just doesn't "sit" well with you. At ALL. In your efforts to MAKE them work, then, you keep trying to fit THEM into your arguments... rather than considering that perhaps your arguments DON'T work. You are unwilling to concede that truth, though... and are too uneducated as to what we ARE talking about to be able to form NEW arguments. And that frustrates you, as well. You don't want to GO back to the drawing board... but you're afraid that you might have to... just in order to gain a perspective that would help you formulate a valid argument. And that fear has you acting irrational.

Rather than hear us out, truly LISTENING to what we're sharing, you dig your feet in and vow to stick to your current understanding (much of which is based on your past experiences), neither of which have much to do with what we're sharing. Yep, THAT knife cuts both ways, too! It doesn't make sense to you, though, because IT IS NOT THE SAME as what you THINK you know about it.

But why not start there, with the premise that perhaps this IS something different, something you've never heard before... or seen any kind of proof of, physical OR spiritual. Condescend a little.

Or, not. Stay "up there" where you are, if you choose... and continue to be confused, frustrated, irritated, even angry.

But it's your choice. No one is making you... and no one is gonna choose for you.

    Again, peace to you!

That is from listening to americans

Although I have lived in NYC as an adult, dear tec (peace, my dear!), I'm primarily from Cali. But when I'm IN NYC... OMG, even I marvel at my "Brooklyn" accent! LOLOLOL! I have NO idea where it comes from either, except listening to my cousins speak. Next thing you know, I'm sayin' "yohwl"... instead of "ya'll"! LOLOLOL!

Takes me about a month or so to "lose" it when I get back home, too. When in Rome, girl, when in Rome...

    Peace!

    YSSFS of Christ,

    SA

elderlite - Nobody made anybody follow the Watchtower. Many of them are happy. That wouldn't stop me pointing out how absurd and deceptive it is.

AG - I've heard you out by reading extensively on your own forum. Its not all that much to be honest - you say the same stuff as here and my reading skills are fine. You aren't special. You aren't a new unanswerable force. Your a bunch of devout individuals having a bit of shared bliss and all power to you. Its been done for thousands of years and it will be done in the future. You're a Joseph Smith, a Bhudda, a Thiota , the local street preacher , a Paul etc. I understand that its painful to be contradicted and to be told you could be causing harm. I see the pain in the LDS missionaries eyes as I disabuse them of false ideas and premises and point out the cost of being wrong in wasted hope, faith and behavioural changes.

    Anyhow - night all:)

    Tec is NOT following Shelby.

    Tec IS following Christ.

I realize that this is impossible for some to grasp, because some are set on believing it, and in doing so... judging what they do not know. So go ahead and believe that if it makes you feel better, because I think it makes you feel better to believe that than to consider that you are wrong.

But thank you, EE, for the rest... and the sentiment I think you meant to relay.

    Peace,
