Circular reasoning.

IF Jesus was who He was, the Incarnate WORD of God, then putting anything into writing would be redundant.
Of course there is also the issues that teachers of His time tends to NOT write anything by their own hand, their followers did that.
And it should be noted that, while the Pentateuch is attributed to Moses, there is much debate whether they were actually written BY Moses, many believe they were commisoned By Moses, that Moses was told by God to put into writing the oral tradtions of the Hebrews and to put into writing what was and would be happening. Whether Moses did ANY of the actua writing is unknow.
Circular reasoning.
How so?

His 3 1/2 year ministry didn't allow him time to lift a pen. He knew his disciples would take care of it flawlessly anyways, and in fact he promised it in John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Pretty bad-ass way to write... telepathically from heaven.

(I mostly agree with you and love your description, lol... I understand one thing different: speaking from within you. If the Spirit is indeed within you. -sort of along the same lines of the kingdom being within)

Tec -I know that He speaks and teaches in spirit.
I was not there in Jerusalem so as to know with certainty of what was said there, xchange...but I do know that what he was written to have said istrue. So i have no reason not to think that those who wrote that down were wrong.
So you can't say with any degree of certainty that Jesus said anything. Just that the sentiments - that are atrributed to a man named Jesus - somehow resonate with you.

I often wonder what if none of Jesus teachings had been put to writing, what would we have known?
As a believer I believe that regardless, God would have found a away.
I think it is quite meaningful that God used and continues to use MAN as His messenger.
Man, with all our issues, imperfections and need for redemption, Man with all his faulty methods of communication, Man in all his glory and crapulence, LOL !
'God used and continues to use MAN as His messenger.'
A shame that he can't be his own messenger, cut out that lying, imperfect middle man. Oh well. Maybe, one day god will learn.

He speaks to me, in spirit, and that is how I can have any degree of certainty about anything; if he teaches me something or guides me to understand.
I can ask Him, to have certainty.
So the answer is, yes, I can say with certainty on the things that He has confirmed to me.
(Some other things I can think are correct, because they resonate or because they are in unity with Him and His teachings.)

Some people would argue the free will issue here, I know that I do that sometimes, but I also think that if man is in need of redemption that man must also be PART of that redemption process, WE have to walk that walk and part of that is all this mess that we make for ourselves.
