Designs,,, I had a good laugh reading your stuff..... :P

(note: I have learned to scorn the RC church because of friends who are 'recovering Catholics'... you know,, like the man I know who was being raped by his priest and got back-handed by his mother for blasphemy and LYING when he told her ... and that's only ONE person's story ... it's just another money-grubbing patriarchal organization)

Oh, and the new Pope is also the first Jesuit Pope, which I find to be very interesting.

    I like those nuns! LOL

My first year teacher was the sweetest nun you'd ever meet. Can't say they were all like that. But some nuns have a wicked sense of humour...LOL

Watching nuns play beach volleyball isn't as much fun as watching normal girls play beach volleyball.

Plus...when I worked for an advertising co. one of my customers was a catholic priest who did all his services in Latin...we had a good ol giggle about his advertising. I asked him what colour he wanted his listing to be...and advised him I was sorry we didn't have purple...he lol'd and we got on like a house on fire.

But they aren't all like that.

If two clicks of Dorothy's red slippers got her back to Kansas what can Francis expect.

Years ago, my friends were getting married in the Church, and there was concern about my hubbie and I being their best man and matron of honour. Neither of us was RC. The priest was quite progressive, and it was no problem. He amazed me with his progressive attitudes (we met a couple of times), and was nothing like what I expected a priest to be.

A couple of years later, he ran off with a nun and got married. TRUE STORY!

    :P

There's good people who are priests and nuns,,, many, many, I am sure! That doesn't erase all the harm done by the bad ones, though.

The home I grew up in was just down the street from St. Cornelius. Mornings and Evenings the nuns would be out for walks and reciting their Rosary. This was the 50s and pre Vatican II so they wore the familar black/white or brown/white habits. When the church was being built our many neighbors who were Catholic were asked to 'buy a brick' for the Church.

Someone showed a recent Wt. on JW families being at the beach in un-beach wear, made me think of the nuns in still's photos, gave me a smile. Buying bricks or getting guilt tripped by the Wt. Org to build an Assembly Hall it all still gives me shudders.
