I just found a German page, that also investigates manipulations in translating the Bible. In this case the manipulations of the New World Translation of the Watchtower Society:

The page also found out about the most obvious manipulation of the Watchtower to adjust the Bible to its doctrine, but there are many more.
It is good to know, that there are lots of people out there who investigate the Watchtower, not only Witnesses and exWitnesses do that.

Romans 10, 13: πας γαρ ?ος αν επικαλεσηται το ονομα κυριου σωθησεται
(information: κυριου = Lord; genitive case)

Romans 10, 13: King James Version translates:
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10, 13: New World Translation of the Watchtower translates:
For everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.

Romans 10, 9: ?οτι εαν ?ομολογητης | εν το στοματι σου | κυριον Ιησουν ... σοθηση
(information: κυριον = Lord; accusative case)

Romans 10, 9: King James Version translates:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, (...), thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10, 9: New World Translation of the Watchtower translates:
For if you publicly declare that ‘word in your own mouth,’ that Jesus is Lord, (...), you will be saved.

By the way, does anyone know something about the move of the Watchtower Company? When will that happen and what is it good for? Is there a special thread where I can get more information?
I think it would be much better if the Watchtower would build nursing and retirement homes and give the Witnesses something back for all their work and efforts. They've done and donated a lot. They deserve to be treaten better. If there is enough time for the Watchtower Company left to move and build new company buildings, than there is also enough time left to build some retirement homes for the old ones. If their fantasy-god spares new company buildings in the fantasy-war, I am convinced it'll spare retirement and nursing homes too, because after the fantasy-war is over, there is no need for company buildings anymore, so why spend all that donations on company buildings instead of family, social, retirement and nursing homes.

When I was in, I do recall something printed that if a person is "not baptized" but considered "in good standing" by the congregation (service, study, etc.) they can be shunned by the congregation and a statement from the platform made...."Publisher so and so is not considerered in good standing" (sorry don't remember exact words)........

On the other hand. If a parent has a child who is just not interested and they shunn them I would think that's more of a personal matter/decision. I don't recall anything printed of that nature.

I am truly sorry to hear that happened to your brother, Newly Enlightened, but what happened is not relevent to the statement that was made.

Just because an individual chooses to go beyond the WT's rules by shunning a non-believer who was never baptised, doesn't make their behaviour official bOrg policy and non-adherance a DFing offense. Any JW who knows how to defend their cult will know that, and use it against you.

I've never been baptised and I've never been shunned. I have never been DF or DA, I'm not gay, I'm never seen in a KH except at funerals & weddings, and I don't ride a bicycle. Please show me an article that clearly demonstrates that my parents should be DFd for associating with me? That is what a JW defending their cult should ask you to do, especially if they are trying not to lose a potential convert.

JW's permit themselves to lie and cheat in defense of the bOrg, but we have to be seen to be better than that. The bOrg portrays us as liars, they in turn, portray us as liars to their new recruits and they will use any mistake we make to polish their image and trash ours, so we have to be squeeky clean when we make statements. If you make ten correct assertions and one wrong one, which one will they want to talk about with their 'student'?

Get real. One little mistake is not going to change anyones mind who is so tied to the borg that they cannot see the truth that it is right in front of their face. So what i suggest is, you go and tell them you are a member of an ''apostate '' club and you have been having

discussions on all of these things and ask them the questions you are asking here. See what they say.

you say you were never baptised, those that are baptised get treated very differently to those who are not.

If you had read the full statement about the woman in gojira's story properly, you would see, it clearly explains she was deaf,

and how the sitution was compounded, because she is deaf.
