Maybe his comments about forgetting things that happened in the past was a veiled reference to those who were sexually molested by someone in the KHall.

Was no one else there? What ever happened to Glasgow, the epicentre of worldwide apostasy?

We had same dog and pony show in Poland On Sunday, but no GB member. My buddy Viv Moritz was there with opening remarks and after WT summary we had talk by Canadian Bethel/Branch overseer (smarmy) and German bethel (John Kassel?) -deadly boring. Doubly boring because it all had to be translated! It was like getting a root canal done with garden tools.
Big take away: University is bad. Maria was a rising star in congregation, but once she started going to universtity, comments, field service, meeting attendance all dropped and then she disappeared. Gee, I wonder what happened.
Bonus talk (Jehovah's treasures) from German bethel overseer. Do these guys get to make up their own outlines? This was probably one of the worst talks I have ever heard.
Viv Moritz wwent on and on about how happy he was to be here, but never cracked a smile. Polish brothers tried to put a happy face on it, but it was really awful.

Dear St Ann, I think you are on to something, they know that the law suits are far from over, in reality they are just beginning.
I expect we will see a lot of emphasis put on this idea, as well as emphasis on "we don't take our Brothers to Court".
What an Evil Murderous Cult this WT is !
Anybody with a slight knowledge of mental health problems will tell you the worst thing to do is simply bury something as deep as you can, that leads ro depression which leads to years of misery and even suicide.

Hi Scott77, I provided the stats from 10 and 5 years ago as a comparison of the slowing down of the peaks as the years pass. I will provide other stats from 1992 and 1996 to illustrate that slowing down. I'm just about to look them up.

Further stats that show how sluggish the growth of JWS in the UK has become in the past more that two decades:
1992
Britain: 126,173
Ireland: 4023
Total: 130196
1996
Britain: 136,975
Ireland: 4459
Total: 136,975.
These Watchtower-reported stats show that it has taken over 20 years for the Witnesses in the UK to grow from a peak of

Apologies for the split posts but I'm using Galaxy Tablet and it reaches limit and I am unable to complete a post. Just to add that it has taken over twenty years for the UK witnesses to increase from just over 130,000 to over 140,000 - you'll note the growth of Irish witnesses has been steadier than that of the British witnesses. By the way, the peak of over 136,000 witnesses took years to go beyond that level. Sluggish growth indeed - so it's interesting that SBF rightly noted the attention to meeting drew to a peak of over 141,000 when combining British and Irish peak JWs.

Sluggish growth does not equal decline, however. Most churches would give their right arm for "sluggish growth", or growth of any kind.

I suppose they would, but I gotta give it to the JWs that they take the initiative in looking for converts. If the churches in decline went door to door, maybe they'd be able to rope in some more suckers too.

talk about creative accounting, putting the Irish and British figures together! I'm also rather sceptical about the Chinese growth in the UK, if that is evident there would be some news of how the work is increasing in the mainland, I reckon there are a mere few pockets of JW's among China's population of over a billion.
SBF; Evangelical Christianity is absolutely booming in the main cities especially in inner London, and also the churches that feature charismatic pastors from West Africa, every where I drive I see buildings converted to an Evangelical Church, as is Islam, our local news is covering planning application for a large new Mosque a couple of miles from us, its is also a couple of miles away from a "super Mosque" that was built a few years ago on the site of a former milk diary, the main stream churches may be suffering decline but not these 2 mentioned.
