SBF, given the decreasing numbers of baptisms, and the "re- encircling" peaks (e.g. compare peak of 1996 with that of 2006), there's a good basis for speaking of declining numbers coming in. As for churches desiring the kind of growth the Witnesses have, I need to suggest that could well be the case in your area, but it is not so in other areas where even the churches of Christendom - to use that pejorative descriptor so loved by the Watchtower - enjoy healthy attendances from immigrant populations. Also the stunning growth of Moslems in Britain has yet to attract any comment from you. Now that's what can be called growth!

....have any respect for life because 8 paedophile loving despots in Brooklyn command us to be that way!''

    "Chinese growth"

    Yes, for free English lessons

The more they bang away on college, the more they alienate the ones that have gone, or are going, and the bigger contributors go away.

What a glib ass Splane is

We had that talk in Australia a while back, I remember it well. I remember everyone gushing over it, I heard nothing but positive comments.

The GB are viewed like God's among mortal men by the rank and file JWs. They could fart and belch into the microphone and it would be greeted with applause.

It's really good that the brothers saw fit to have the conventions from this summer onward in Glasgow. An absolute shithole of a place where no-one wants to live, never mind visit. Pulling every JW in Scotland to the most hostile & 'uncentral' place in the country.

I guess it just suits the brothers who organise these events.

Steve there are more publishers in the UK than ever before. No matter how you spin that it is not decline.

Sure there are churches that are composed almost entirely of immigrants that are growing fast. (Whether that be African pentecostals or Asian Muslims or whatever)

But JWs are not comparable to those groups because the vast majority of JWs are still indigenous British. Among churches that comprise mostly indigenous British people (Anglicans, Methodists, Baptists, Brethren, Pentecostals - the older indigenous varieties like the Assemblies of God rather than the immigrant Pentecostal churches - Catholics, Presbyterians and so on) JWs are pretty much alone in bucking the trend of decline over the past ten, twenty, thirty, forty years.

SBF agian wrong , I live in Inner London and there are large virtual all black/West Indian/ West African congs that are almost wholly non indigenous that is the only part where their growth has come from in recent years

I was there. I thought that it was interesting that University education was condemed then we had an experience about a girl who brought 8 adults from her school into the org. Jehovah must hate people who work at Uni. He wont let any of the little sheep go there and engage in incidental witnessing or provide a good witness by their exemplary conduct etc. I thought Jehovah was impartial.

The whole talk was an attempt to make anyone who isnt doing exactly as they are told look like they lack faith. We got a few examples of unlikely things happening, eg the non qualified ex bethelite getting a good job the were told " Jehovah loves the word impossible". However the impossible doesn't happen for everyone and those that have to face that soon wake up.
