You realize "I'm the age my Mom and Dad were when they said that," etc.--"so
that's how they felt when they said that." You wish you could go back and see
them again.With certain social improvements, you're annoyed at what some young people
generalize your parents' whole generation was like knowing your parents weren't
like that.The young adult celebrities from your childhood are passing away. With some
regularity.Old people are weird. They don't say, "The Depression" (1930's)--"that was
tough" and wear fedoras and know about the Big Bands and Bing Crosby. They took
the wrong mesc at Woodstock and have favorite Firesign Theater albums or such.
I'm sorry--you're not proper old people. You'll have to be something else.You remember when only Valley Girls made so many statements sound like
questions and acted mundane things out as easier than finding the right words:
"I went outside? And I was like Brrr!"You double space between sentences and put quotation marks after the periods
and commas. -
