Didn't Russell try to lead the original Bible students down the Numerology path using the Pyramid?

Unfortunately the book 'Who built the Moon' has as it's solution a real disaster unless you could believe that time travelers from the future go back in time 4.5 billion years and built our moon.

    more facts about 400: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=400

    400 = 20^2 is a perfect square.

400 in roman numerals is CD! that's clearly christus dominus.

in greek it's upsilon, Y stands for the decision of taking the right or wrong way! omfg, that guy is on to something!

I think what you actually have is the genuinely interesting fact that the size of the moon and its distance from earth gives us a perfect fit for an eclipse.

As has already been pointed out this is a temporary and transient situation.

You have taken this fascinating phenomena and built a whole load of contrived numerology on top of it.

None of it tellls us anything about the bible, Jesus or creation.

Reminds me of Douglas Adams wonderful analogy........

"Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, “This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!”

This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for."

Thank you for your comment on Paul's views about women. I wish it had been on a thread of its own. It really opened a lot of new possibilities for me, not only about this sibject, but also about other subjects that Paul wrote about, and his peculiar writing style as well.

yeah, maybe we could split this thead in a few new ones? these are the main topics:

    - how to shame JWs using the bible

    - is it ok to call atheists swine or dogs?

    - how the number 400 proves that jesus is god

    - are you a TRUE scotsman?

    - maybe paul actually didn't mean what he wrote

@christian guy - thanks for the reply

Maybe you are saying I only believe as I now do because I was born in a largely Christian nation. Well, I admit that fact certainly helped me find the faith I now have. But again, I don't see what you are getting at.

thats exactly what I'm getting at - like the clothes you are wearing, your religion is an accident of where you are born. 99.99% of Afghanis are just as convinced as you, but about something different.

I'm not sure how that works in practice - to me either you are both right, both wrong or one of you is right and one of you is wrong. Until I see compelling evidence for a fairly grandiose claim, I am in the 'both wrong' camp.

Besty, that makes absolute sense to me. Big claims require big proof.
