You never mentioned about WHY Jesus Christ had to give his life to buy us God's forgiveness for our sins, or why his Dad is such a shitty asshole

You people remind me of a man claiming to be thirsty and begging all who pass him by for water. But whenever someone gives him some water all he ever does is complain about the quality and the quanity of the water and viciously attack all those who believed his false claims to be thirsty.

I mentioned before that Christ told his followers not to discuss sacred things with people who they can see have no appreciation for sacred things. Christ also asked his followers, "Why do you call me Lord if you do not do what I say?"

I will now follow his instructions. Too bad. This board really needed some balance.

Far from it. I just no longer see any point in wasting my time talking to people who call my Father filthy names and offer nothing of any value to this discussion. You for instance are a perfect example of this. You have contributed absolutely nothing of any substance to this thread. Only lame jokes and insults. If you had any decency and courage you would have told Farkel off for his comments. But you didn't stand up to him. And I doubt any others like you here will either. So who is the coward? What a spiritual and intellectual wasteland this place is! Shaking the dust off my feet.

Ok we get it already, Christians an atheists have irreconcilable viewpoints. What I want to know is, why every time a believer and a non believer post side by side it degenerates into a mud slinging match. Why not we be more tolerant of each other?

Usually because someone on the atheist field resorts to insult on someone we, believers, consider in high regard, or make patronizing remarks about our intelligence. That's not the way to pursuit a civilized discussion.

And to prove that God doesn't exist, it is the faulty and the stupidity of the believers that proves the non-existence of God.

Atheists demand rational evidence.

Believers don't have much of that to offer, and have a deep emotional connection with their beliefs.

Internet open discussion forums don't seem a good venue for resolving the dichotomy - on the one hand in this thread we have believers implying atheists are pig-dogs and atheists retorting with god is a shitty asshole...not much to say really...

To a degree maybe - one of my few beliefs is that most people are fundamentally good at heart. If you could disprove this to me I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep.
