as I am now able to able to defend mine..
Please list the post number where you have done this. Quit giving us the runaround with your holier than thou act.
You handed the JWs their ass, now lets see if you can do it when it really counts.

Poor Cofty, whenever he says he used to be a Christian someone seems to want to tell him he's wrong.
I understand that this is Calvinist theology, but it does come across disrespectful. (imo)

Christian guy, thanks for relaying this experience, I loved every bit of it. I've learned that with true believing JWs you need to reach them using the bible, which you successfully did.

(in the case an atheist, by his own admission)
i admitted no such thing, go back and read my first response to you, I said 'IF' there's no Jesus and God. You made the assumption I was an atheist and proceeded to quote lines from the bible and use those as your own personal instruction from Jesus to tell others who you have judged, that they shouldn't be hearing sacred things. Being slow to condemn would be a good start.
i personally don't view being quick to judge, condemning and lack of love as good qualities.

Coffy, You were never a born again Christian. Because if you were truly born again by the Spirit of God you would not be an unbeliever now
In precisely the same way JWs claim that no apostate was ever really a JW and Mormons do the same and so on.
It's a defense mechanism because to admit that somebody just like yourself could later repudiate their faith causes you anxiety.
It's tempting to say that your arrogance belies your claim to be a christian but in fact is does the opposite.
Why don't you have a browse at ex-christian forum? Are they all just pretending to have been christians?
I have never said I will not defend my beliefs
No, you will only defend them in an echo chamber where everybody else applauds you. You have joined a discussion forum christian boy.
Going from the Watchtower to Evangelical christianity is to go from one cult to another.

I guess your "and so on" must have included Christ's apostles because John wrote, "They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us." (1 John 2:19)

You confuse arrogance with confidence.

No. They are not pretending that they were once believers. But there is a big difference between being a believer and being a true Christian. For even "the demons believe, and tremble." (James 2:19)
you will only defend [your beliefs] in an echo chamber where everybody else applauds you.
No, I have always been willing to defend my beliefs to anyone who gives me reason to believe that their minds and hearts are open to finding God. The problem is that so far I have here encountered no such people. All I have here met are a few Christians who are already strong believers, and thus have not challanged my faith, and a lot of people who appear to hate God, his word, and his people. To me this place seems largely to be a den of lions and a nest of scorpions where few Christians understandably want to spend much time.

I did not go from the Watchtower to Evangelical Christianity. I went from the Watchtower to Christ.

No, you actually are arrogant.
The believers on this forum are still believers despite having their faith tested and their reasoning questioned at every turn. It must be tiring, but in a way it is respectable. It'a good to be confident in what you believe and be able to field questions and remarks from people like us, who have facts and reason on our side. As far as the creation/creator argument goes, it has been discussed at length on this forum. Eventually the Christians get tired of trying to present false facts and flawed logic. They retreat to the unprovable, unknowable realm. Always the same.

Our teachers said the New Testament is only for 144,000 Christians with the "First Hope", JWs were told "off the record" most of the Greek Scriptures don't apply to them. It's easy to steal away the hope of a Christian willing to hand their brains over to a magazine saleswomen.
Ephesians 4:4+
4 We are all parts of one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. 5 For us there is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 and we all have the same God and Father who is over us all and in us all, and living through every part of us. 7 However, Christ has given each of us special abilities—whatever he wants us to have out of his rich storehouse of gifts."
14 Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth. 15-16 Instead, we will lovingly follow the truth at all times—speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly[ a ]—and so become more and more in every way like Christ who is the Head of his body, the Church. Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly, and each part in its own special way helps the other parts, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
17-18 Let me say this, then, speaking for the Lord: Live no longer as the unsaved do, for they are blinded and confused. Their closed hearts are full of darkness; they are far away from the life of God because they have shut their minds against him, and they cannot understand his ways. 19 They don’t care anymore about right and wrong and have given themselves over to impure ways. They stop at nothing, being driven by their evil minds and reckless lusts.
20 But that isn’t the way Christ taught you! 21 If you have really heard his voice and learned from him the truths concerning himself, 22 then throw off your old evil nature—the old you that was a partner in your evil ways—rotten through and through, full of lust and sham.
23 Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better. 24 Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with this new nature.
25 Stop lying to each other; tell the truth, for we are parts of each other and when we lie to each other we are hurting ourselves. 26 If you are angry, don’t sin by nursing your grudge. Don’t let the sun go down with you still angry—get over it quickly; 27 for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil.
28 If anyone is stealing he must stop it and begin using those hands of his for honest work so he can give to others in need. 29 Don’t use bad language. Say only what is good and helpful to those you are talking to, and what will give them a blessing.
30 Don’t cause the Holy Spirit sorrow by the way you live. Remember, he is the one who marks you to be present on that day when salvation from sin will be complete.[ b ]
31 Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ.

Christianguy, we really need to work on Matthew 5:39 or we have reduced ourselves to a child of Christian instead of enjoying the deep things of Jesus Christ, back to the basics and milk. The Master could read the hearts of the Pharisees and wicked religious leaders, we don't know whois going to be affected by our words. The great Christian Apologists must remain guiltless during the debates with well-known Atheist and Islamic Clerics, I listen to the insults hurled during the Christian and Islamic debates while the Christian Apologist remained calm and respectful for Mohammed and Islam even while the audience and Cleric get's upset or uses ad-hominen attacks. The Atheist speaker will throw something wild out for the audience like "I would rather keep rape than religion" Sam Harris quote, the professional Christian Apologist continues to behave like Jesus Christ or he loses the debate because it's not ok for us to name call, we get this thrown back in our face because of the higher ground we are trying to walk. Christians are held to a higher level of morality because we are preaching the message of Jesus Christ, we got to change how we handle the evils people throw our ways. I don't think the atheist are calling us names, it's the gross hypocrites and their wicked deeds hurting the innocent ones who they are attacking, most are good spirited with good cheer like Captian Obvious.
1 Peter 2:
1 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in Scripture:
1 Corinthians 3: " 1 Dear brothers and sisters, a when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. b I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in the Christian life. c 2 I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, 3 for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world? 4 When one of you says, “I am a follower of Paul,” and another says, “I follow Apollos,” aren’t you acting just like people of the world?
Matthew 5:39
Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary
39. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil; but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right check, turn to him the other also—Our Lord's own meek, yet dignified bearing, when smitten rudely on the cheek (Joh 18:22, 23), and not literally presenting the other, is the best comment on these words. It is the preparedness, after one indignity, not to invite but to submit meekly to another, without retaliation, which this strong language is meant to convey.
