Two of the most BULL SH$& paragraphs that

I have ever read in my 50yrs of cult worship!!!!

In his detailed prophecy about the conclusion of this system of things, Jesus said: “This generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen.” (Read Matthew 24:33-35.) We understand that in mentioning “this generation,” Jesus was referring to two groups of anointed Christians. The first group was on hand in 1914, and they readily discerned the sign of Christ’s presence in that year. Those who made up this group were not merely alive in 1914, but they were spirit-anointed as sons of God in or before that year.—Rom. 8:14-17.

16 The second group included in “this generation” are anointed contemporaries of the first group. They were not simply alive during the lifetime of those in the first group, but they were anointed with holy spirit during the time that those of the first group were still on earth. Thus, not every anointed person today is included in “this generation” of whom Jesus spoke. Today, those in this second group are themselves advancing in years. Yet, Jesus’ words at Matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of “this generation will by no means pass away” before seeing the start of the great tribulation. This should add to our conviction that little time remains before the King of God’s Kingdom acts to destroy the wicked and usher in a righteous new world.—2 Pet. 3:13.

Great posts . A lot of information to consider.

Of course, we can discuss a lot of differnt relating topics here, but lets not loose focus. Everything is up for discussion, but the issue here is the revised WT "this generation" definition.

    Given: 1914 WT teaching

What we are trying to examine objectively here is this new 'this generation" meaning (interlapping teaching is in question here) THAT IS IT. IF the 1914 genration passed away, that is iit. 1914 falls apart. BUT NOT ACCORDING TO THE NEW DEFINITION. According to the definition, "this generation" is still around and very old. AND they will see the GT.

My question is this, how old is the second group, their min and max ages. Actually, how old DO THEY SAY is the second group. Objectively, is interlapping scriptural?

Here is what the WT is saying: (now they have gone back and forth on what generation means so they dont know what it means) "The 1914 generationwill see the GT no matter what generation means" Nevertheless, generation meaning must be scripturally supported.

Personally, and I could be wrong; what do I know?; but to me, at the very least the interlappers MUST have been around in 1914

Its quite obvious to the outsider that the WTS. came up with a big pile of bullshit to cover their asses in why nothing

has happened like they said it would.

But thats their power, privilege and freedom as a religious organization.

Staid old time JWS are NOT just going to walk out of the Kingdom Hall on this particular circumstance .

The majority are arrogantly faithful and subservient to the Borg through years of mental indoctrination.

This may just add just a sliver of doubt and thats all.

Loyalty is the prime requisite for all JWS to stay in good standing.

This new generation explanation is food at the proper time and when it becomes irreverent, some more food

at the proper time will be concocted.

    So help Jehovah's publishing house..

One stupid guy came up with this wacko reasoning but for eight men to agree to this idea and then except 7 million people to obediently believe and teach this crap is beyond comprehension.

It could be that the holy spirit really is guiding them by making it more and more obvious with new teachings that this relision is just a bunch of men who are guessing and making things up.

    TD,

Give me some time to think about what you said.

Any posts that documents from the publications the specific age gap of the interlappers is greatly appreciated.

"Today, those in this second group are themselves advancing in years."

The above statement is intentionally dubious. It puts the reader in a position where he does not know what adavncing in years mean even though the writer DOES know what he MEANS. Writer does not reveal age but writer KNOWS the age of the second group. He wants to leave the reader wondering and thinking and believing.

According to the dictionary advanced years means od age (after age 65) So, advancing in years could mean getting old or before age 65 OR it could also mean getting older or it could also mean they are very old in age and adavncing to the end of the line. One thing for sure we are all advancing in years no matter how old or young. The statement does not comfort me, it frustrates me.

They're just gonna keep twisting and changing that scripture to suit as time goes on. People do gradually wake up, and things like this get thinking JWs going, "WTF?" The sillier ones will be like, "OMG, the second lot of anointed are getting old now, the end must be sooooo close!" Just like when the 1914 group started dying off they were like, "OMG the number of anointed is smaller and smaller each year, OMG the end must be sooooooo close!"

Or if another change happens, "OMG, nu lite, the end must be soooo close!"

If you add the max human life span 120 +- years to 1914 you come to 2034-2038 for this unique generation to expire.

THAT IS TOO LONG for WT writers. they need, or rather want action in the contribution boxes* NOW, all the time.

if the overlapping generation(s) are thus calculated, it is not going to happen in this century, or any other.

Strong can be hardly the word for a centenarian(ne). go-going-gone.

    * story has it, that Circuit assembly had not met deficit (take owed to WT inc. ) so congregations had to vote to dip into congrgation accounts to make sure the arrangement shows the profit expected. good.
