I think it is probably intended to be a routine reminder. "We never ask for donations like the world does. But Jehovah loves you when you contribute to his organization."
Routine reminders are given in the WT and a service meeting part not an official Letter
Yeah, but a reminder from HQ is special. The message is no different.
So the question that needs to be asked is, Has the ORg gotten more greedy lately and if so why???
The study jan 2014 WT I believe has an entire article that will be studies in the meetings about donating money and making sacrifices. The food at the proper time is going to be about giving the borg more money even though nobody has money for following their advice of no education or job that pays higher than a window washer.

As for the op , they are like the materialistic rich person , they are never satisfied with what they have . They continue to strive after more and more wealth , whether it be money or assets .
And they do this while encouraging the R&F to live frugal lives , just existing until the "new system" , while they, the G.B. enjoy world travel , good food , good accomodation , no taxes to be paid , no expenses to be met , dont have to worry about retirement , their set for life.
All the R&F have to do is keep giving so these men ( not women ) live a life of luxury in this satanic system of things.

Sending them money with the idea that it will be returned to you, and then when you have got a legitimate need for it refusing to hand it back. The nerve of the GB I wonder how they sleep at night. It dose sort of make you wonder however if they are having to resort to these tactics just what kind of trouble they are in. I don't think they are broke but their current model is unsustainable. Like I have always maintained if you want to find out what Gods organization is up to here on earth go to an apostate site, they certainly have no issue with divulging the facts. Amen to that

After listening to the letter read last night, and reading the OP again, I don't think it was the usual routine letter. I think it is a reminder to donate for the NWT which everyone got for free a few weeks ago. With the date of the letter being Oct 18, only a couple of weeks after the new release.
