...and yes, there are quite a few here who have become atheists, myself included.

I hope you enjoy reading up on what others have to say here.

If I could offer a small bit of advice, actually more of a reminder...
...people can't make you feel shame if you don't want to feel shame.

You don't have to conform to the family's mentality. Your persistent kindness and fairness will be unphased by their pettiness. In the long run, you should win the respect of at least a few people, if you haven't already.

I see that you have noticed how dysfunctional some dub families are...LOL You will see how bad it really is across the board by listening to some stories here. Hope you stay around awhile. I like fresh views.

Thank you all for the warm welcome... I am encouraged to see so many people who will discuss these matters with me - reasonably! I must explain that I am in Australia so I actually posted about 5.30pm my time (I am not really a night-owl!)

I have done an enormous amount of research and reading into the Watchtower so I hope I can offer some interesting "outside" perspectives without making a wally of myself! I am also a member of the Skeptic Society so I may be able to put my two cents worth in on some other matters....
