I have personally spoken to guys who served in NY Bethel, London Bethel, and the German Bethel. Same kinds of stories came from them too.

Certainly things have changed now in Bethel.

I see no real change to this day. I do see persecution of anyone who has even a mild disagreement with the Society be it about policy or doctrine.

I also see severe coercion applied (fear of being DF and shunned) to the rank and file to make sure that everyone 'marches in step' even if the march is taking believer's in the wrong direction.

Unfortunately their pedophile problem continues to grow because of the insane belief that the WTBTS is to be protected by all means even if it impacts children and families.

Those protections started with Russell passed on to Rutherford and continues to be part of the WT corporate culture.

The real power always rests in the hand's of ego driven 'company men' who obviously are not spiritually strong at all

The WT continues to be a mess.

this thread needs to be bumped regularly--for all the new ones streaming into this site.

I believe your account is true, Blue , b/c I knew someone who had friends at the Bethel. He said it was a business and that was moslty it. He said they knew the dates 1914 etc were wrong but too many careers depended on keeping this delusion going. He and his wife were bisexual ( and had bee many years) and had many firends among the elite. They had many fringe jws friends. Someone how he managed to make it to the end of his life without being DF. He was protected by many. I felt sick knowing this. He confirmed what I'd always thougt- the WTS will go out of their way to protect MEN who become invoved in sin , including child molestation. They will throw women ( who are not well connected) to the wind. What a rotten org, know better and in many cases worse than the "world" they hated so much.

Nothing changes...

While jw official policy and teachings highlight a strong moral code, and reject any such conduct, the reality is that it happens all the time.

And what is worse, is that when it occurs, it is excused with comments like. "We are imperfect, etc"

Jwfacts and I were in the Australian bethel, and the stories we can tell are very eye opening indeed.....and very sad......
