or she is in the process of waking up, going through the stages.

like a photon travels that like a electro/ magnetic wave but hits like a particle*.

like an ocean wave, travels as a rotation, smacks you hard when it breaks. then becomes a bore of moving mass lapping up the beach,

    even overlapping.

    * Einstein got his Nobel Prize for that insight.

Is god the source of all that is good, or a heartless bastard, or non-existent?-cofty

I was philosophising on a question that you refused to answer from an atheist? What would the world look like with God?

If you cannot picture a world with God, I cannot picture a world without God. My post 1290 is null and void to you cofty because you refuse to engage in a resonable way. You made a flat assertion. But it's clear from your statement that a world with God would be free from suffering. So cofty, you are an athiest because there is suffering. Many are atheist because of suffering also.

I did not say God was a source of all that is good. I said if I had to imagine a world without God what it would be like. Both positive and negative experiences cause me to think of God. I mainly strike up a dialogue with him when I see others suffer, or experince it myself (perhaps I am talking to myself).

Yes God is heartless in a sense as he does not get involved with putting an end to suffering. He is an intelligent creator who doesn't care about anyone. Caring people are in the world, we can live without some benevolent sky daddy. Bad things happen all the time, much of this badness can be prevented by good people.

This fact will not stop me thinking about him, but it may in time stop me being angry with him and talking to him (myself) Kate xx

Adam, I agree with you. Yes you are confused. Sadly though I don't think you are genuinely interested in my beliefs, and you just want to debate with me. I don't mind, fire away Adam.

HAHa very funny, if you look at the OP, that clarifies things. So Cofty, How would the world look if there was a God?

My guess you would think it is a world without suffering. Am I right that is what you think?

Its an impossible question to answer unless you first carefully define what you mean by "god".

Cofty you are dodging the bullet mister.

I do get what you mean though. I am half way through reading Max Jammer. So I might start a thread about all the 'isms, namely theism, deism, pantheism, polytheism, samism, and any other 'ism you can think of.

At the moment, whilst I am still deprogramming, I define God as an itelligent creator who doesn't care about anyone. How would you define God if you were to imagine a world with God? You may define him as it suits you.

If theism was true nobody would be debating whether or not god exists.

What you say is nonsense because an evolution-denier could equally say.....

If evolution was true nobody would be debating whether or not it's true.

People debate for two reasons, they are bored like me, or they want to help bored people like me. Kate x

The evidence for evolution takes effort to investigate and understand. When you look at it, it is true beyond all reasonable doubt. If you choose to ignore it you are free to do so.

If there was a theistic god the evidence would be impossible to ignore. Amputees would get healed.
