Minimus, hope your back is on the mend.
Another fear I see that haunts WT is more & more of the elders waking-up/wising-up to all the GB's foolishness of late!

Jw gonebad. this is a fear of theirs. Less men want to serve in responsible positions and the elders are getting elderly.
I understand that there are lots of senior-age elders who are holding on to their positions because fewer "qualified" males are stepping forward into elder roles. That must be a big worry for "higher ups" in the organization.
It sounds like they have a lot to fear. I suggest that they are also very fearful of what stupid elders have done to create future liabilities to the organization.
I think deep down they would love to get rid of elders. They are nothing but trouble and a source of yet unknown legal liabilities.
Because the fear losing Control Of Jehovahs Witnesses "Every" Decision, as Outlaw said,
there is nothing they fear more than explicit focus on the liberating "unabridged gospel" of grace.
Even if studied only from the Watchtower library.

steve2: " You can control most things but it is hard to stifle a yawn. "
Oh damn you! You made me yawn.
Foreclosure, bankruptcy, and no one will buy.
Fear of courts and fines.
No followers, doors closed.
It happens!
Their biggest fear right now is that everybody will look at their calendars and say
"2014! What the hell? These dumb arses have been beating this drum for a hundred freaking years!
....the hell with them ....I'm relaxing on Sat mornings and taking a day trip every Sunday."
That's their biggest fear. Thus the double-down on fear, guilt, and authority-structure watchtower lessons.
It's also the reason for all these international conventions - to distract from the obvious embarrassment that this year is.
