I`m surprised that the internet isnt the number one reason , along with education .

Its the internet that has allowed us to compare WT publications along with their doctrines , flip flops , manipulative and controlling techniques these past 130 + years .

I could be wrong , however I think the internet / education is the reason most of us are here.

Its been said many times before ,once you learn TTATT you cant unlearn it.

    The biggest fear they have?

The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy." - H. L. Mencken

Most people who leave do not give a toss whether it's the truth or not. In fact, most would be hard pressed to clearly articulate why they left or faded.if intellect motivated people to leave, apostasy would be widespread among exJWs. We know, however, few leave because they've concluded it is false.apathy rules, okay?

I wonder what %ge are still in but wish there was an easy way out.

There are plenty on this forum who are in that position.

They are doing just enough to keep the wolves from the door.

Education and access to information are the biggest fears for the WBTS because that is what makes it so hard for them to recruit and retain members in developed countries hence the focus on OBEY NO MATTER WHAT.

BTW big mac - I just noticed your comment about your filipina fiancee - don't tell Adamah, he will think she is a mail order bride! And yes you are righ the Filipinos do not shun family as instructed by the WBTS, thankfully

A dictator/liar's biggest fear is being exposed! Therefore, his absolute priority must be damage limitation, by using every threat possible to prevent his victims from listening to anyone who has escaped from his clutches. Such ones are awakened friends and relatives and the Internet!

As such, threatening and condemnatory "counsel" will spew ever increasingly from the GB, culminating in disfellowshipping for anyone who frequents so-called apostate websites or associates with already D/Fd friends and relatives!

You can't control the income if you can't control the sheep!

I cannot say for sure what their greatest fear is, but for sure, their biggest problem is the lack of creative innovation.

Russell brought many exciting new teachings and ideas to his followers. Rutherford, did similarly and engendered excitement in marketing his books etc.

But in modern times they seem to have nothing new to get the R&F going, yes they can try the same old fear tactics, but really they have nothing new to offer.

    Boredom is their biggest problem.

When 2014 passes and nothing happens, they will find a huge drift away as JW's seek something with at least a spark of life in it.

    modern morals.

Humankind banning suh hate speech as homophobia, apostate labeling and the dehumanising disfellowship rule.

We need someone with money to take the disfellowsip doctrine to the EU court of human rights and show that JW's are denying freedom of worship with this rule. They punish those who choose to believe otherwise. Ironically, the JW's are well known to this court, fighting for THEIR religious freedom. Hypocritical, two faced , inhumane sheep.

What about the Right to Family Life too ? of course the WT will claim they cannot force their members to speak with DF'd family members.

But the talk given by A.Morris the Turd in Italy could be used to show that they DO instruct their members to split their families, and deny the right to a family life to DF'd ones.
