What a surprise to have a 'new name' for ARoarer! Very pleasant one though. Barbara, your 'roar' has been heard as far as the Great Southern Land.
May you have strength to keep on roaring.
Cheers,
Ozzie
Barbara and family,
I have to say amen to what everyone else has said.
We are now seeing just how UNgodly the WTS really is.
To try to keep a hold on the present R&f members by
victomizing the victoms rather than the wrongdoers is
truely disgusting.
It shows how far away from God they truly are.

ALL I CAN SAY personally speaking is CELEBRATION TIME / WOOPIE / HAPPY WEEKEND TO ONE AND ALL THAT IS INVOLVED --- GOD BE WITH YOU ALL..((((((warm and loving and healing hugs)))))))))))))))) loads and loads of them !!! PEACE
Each and everyone of you have said things that make me realize how decietful the Watchtower Society is. The label of "Apostate" is a cruel one to put on the ones who left their ranks. They've made that word put fear in the hearts of the members. They've removed the human element of those who leave and "demonize" them with a word that reduces them to something the Watchtower wants to create as evil and desearving of death. I used to believe that if I was given "apostate literature" Jehovah would see me if I read it, and my test would be whether I discarded it or read it. I always discarded it, thinking that if a person was faithful in least they would be faithful in much. Thought control is evil and very powerful in keeping members in line. The Armegeddon scare is a powerful adherent to most JW's. Thank you all for showing me that "apostates" are people. Everyday people with everyday problems. I would rather take my chances with my own conscience and enjoy the many new friendships I have met along the way than to be threatened into submission never really enjoying my life and family the way our Creator meant it to be. Thank you all. And I am glad you have gotten to meet my son, Justin, and yes he is a piece of work and I am very proud of him, and also his wonderful wife, my daughter in law. They, as newlyweds should not have to bear this kind of cloud over their heads because the "church community" they grew up in chooses to abandon them because of taking their stand over these issues. They lived the nightmare in the Courtroom, and first hand watched elders lie on the witness stand. Rather than these elders being a "hiding place fro the storm" the elders became a part of the storm. I know it's been hard for them and especially my daughter in law who has pressure from within her JW family, and she is a spiritual person with spiritual needs. I so understand that. And I know God will put the right ones in her path that truly bring God in her life without the fear, and shame, and guilt that the Watchtower heaps on the shoulders of their members. I am proud of her and I love her very much. I know it is only a matter of time before the Watchtower comes after them, and it angers me. They were also filmed on Dateline with us and I believe that they will be included in the show. Well the Watchtower has sure given publicity to this soon coming show by trying to silence us.

REJOICE
Rejoice in the healing and not in the pain.
Rejoice in the challenge to overcome and not in the past hurts.
Rejoice in the present - full of love and joy.
Rejoice in the future for it is filled with new horizons yet to be explored.

WOW, how courageous you and your family are. May you always bask in the freedom you have, knowing you have earned it one of the hardest ways possible.
I'm so glad your immediate family is with you. How comforting that must be.
Hugs,

Good morning Barbara and Justin,
How are you both feeling today?

REJOICE!! Praise JAWS!! All the Jaws that spoke up and out.

Barbara,
Thanks for the update and the great post about how this internet community has made a difference for you! You gave a more meaningful testimony than I ever heard at a canned "district convention" interview.
What has happened, of course, is you've been set free (inadvertently on their part, to give you freedom). I too was "set free" under questionable circumstances in "kangaroo court". I didn't like it at first, but hey it was my ticket to a lot happier life.
If you choose to maintain a relationship with God, then it won't be hindered by self-appointed "mediators" who wish to impose their conscience upon your every decision, as if God didn't create us as individuals with thinking / discernment.
And of course, your relationships with others will be richer. It will be closer to an "unconditional" love or respect, rather than based on how spiritual you appear to be, how much activity you did or appeared to do lately for a publishing society, and certainly the love won't be based on "who you know" or "how great your influence is".
Congratulations, and welcome to the evil world of apostates (tongue in cheek).

Barbara and Family,
Disfellowshipping and shunning is an evil, horrible thing to do to a human being.
However, I want to congratulate you on finally being free! As Simon said "Welcome to the rest of your life."
May you continue to have the courage you've shown already, as you face the future.
