    the detective is correct!!!

The organization is bad because they lie and cover up.
    Nothing is open.

The business aspect of the org. is a secret.

Say here's a little thought experiment.

I imagine that some people could whore themselves like
Tokyo Rose or Lord Haw-Haw did for the Axis. I imagine that
they could use names - and just enough mystical detail -
to pretend they aren't shills for the Watchtower.

I can remember the first shills who attacked Bill Bowen on this
board or H2O - they ridiculed him thinking that his story would
go no further than a "Paducah" newspaper. Well, they found out
    differently.

My stepdaughter was molested. The lying elders who covered it
up were never removed. The Society was fully informed together
with solid evidence and ADMISSIONS that it was true.

Result? The Society DID NOTHING, period.
Don't peddle this sh*t to me about how much they care
and when they punish. They "say but do not perform"
And that's why they're in trouble.

    amac,

Its about control. Yes - there may or may not be sex. But its about control. Go Email "waiting" but be prepared.

And yes you are right, Hilda is not a f__king idiot. But unfortunately, anyone who decides to practice "theocratic warfare" as per the 1957 Watchtower article over this issue does need help.

Who do they call? Why, the police, silly.

That was my point. That is the way it should be. It would be nice if the WT clarified this in an article. Then maybe we could stop worrying about whether or not elders should be reporting this.

    amac,

Its about control. Yes - there may or may not be sex. But its about control. Go Email "waiting" but be prepared.

I don't really care what drives a pervert to molesting children, I don't know I could ever fully understand it. However, to make a blanket statement like that seems silly. Unless you have done some serious research and interviews with child molesters and came to this conclusion on each one.

You don't care why??? That's the problem with the WT too.

    Its about control.

    Have fun researching.

Thats right, how would the average person know, elders included?
That is why elders or anyone like them are not in a position to help these kids, or adults that have been molested or raped.
Hell, the WT can't even decide whether you should scream or not!!
How would they be in a position to counsel or set internal policy?
They are frauds and blood guilty and contribute to hurting the innocent ones.

    Amac,
I get your point. But I think your point is still somewhat passive.

We agree that the policy needs to change. As you put it: "spelled out" in their literature. But you seem to be putting the emphasis on the everyman JW who is simply following church policy when they take their complaints to the elders first. As if Joe publisher is responsible for the reporting system as it stands now. This isn't the case. This a top-down policy where witnesses are expected to report complaints about other witneses (including illegal activities) to elders FIRST. The society dictates this policy. Now, if you think that this policy should be disregarded then it would have to be the society that initiates it. If they fail to do so, who to responsible? The average rank and file witness who follows their policies (usually with the distinct realiztion that failure to do so could result in penalty) or the policy makers themselves?

You keep insinuating that the parents or the average witness ar shirking their responsibilities by going to the elders first. That's the policy.

So, the upper eschelon who is responsible for that policy needs to step up and change it. Right?

    Hilda,

You are basing your views on acceptance of WT policy based on what they tell the public in their website what that policy is. Unfortunately, that stated policy is fictitious, and more than likely will eventually be proven in a court of law when all pertinent documents are presented as evidence, i.e. "Pay Attention" book and BOE letters.

Sure, you can categorically deny the thousands of testimonies on Silentlambs and call it hearsay, and take them with a grain of salt. Just remember, the more hearsay evidence that exists from indenpendent sources, the more credible it becomes. You can surely agree this principle is precisely why many now accept the Bible for what it is, even though the original manuscripts are virtually nonexistent, because of the thousands of copies that have surfaced throughout the ages.

Sure, go ahead and presume that what is on the net is altered, prefabricated, made up, etc. Sooner or later, the WT Society is going to realize the internet is it's worst nightmare, because it will expose it for what it really is, a man made organization with man made rules, that will do anything to protect itself, i.e. "theocratic warfare". That is the biggest cop out I have ever heard of.

If you truly believe that what the Bible says about submitting to the superior authorites, then you will immediately see the WT has already breached that principle by making it a matter of choice whether or not the parents report an alleged case of child abuse to the police. It is illegal in all 50 states for parents not to report. Interesting how this is not listed in the WT website eh?

Hilda, you say the WT is not concerned with covering it's ass. Then tell me, what in the world does making a priority of contacting WT legal dept. before any action is taken have to do with the WELFARE OF THE CHILD when an allegation is first made? The point is, it has nothing to do with it. You are truly a shallow tunnel visioned person if you can't see that the first order of business will be to see if the state is a clergy reporting state or not. Of course, you won't see this either in the WT web will you? Why not Hilda?

Interesting also that the WT doesn't inform the public that 2 witnesses are required if the accused denies the allegation, otherwise no action whatsoever will be taken, despite the fact that noone as a rule in the org. are trained professionals to make such an assessment. You don't find that major policy revealing itself to the public on the WT web do you Hilda?

Then of course there is the common misconception from JW apologists such as yourself that a former molester that is an elder is stripped of all responsibilities and privileges if it is revealed that in his past he had molested kids. Again, not so. The WT policy is whether the individual is KNOWN to have been a molester. If if is general knowledge that he was, you better believe he will have every single duty stripped (CYA ONE AGAIN), but if he is not, the BOE letters clearly show privilege and responsibility will not be altered one iota if he has led an exemplary life. But again, WT leaders are not professionals, are they Hilda? This policy is not in the WT web either is it Hilda?

Any person with a reasonable education and cognitive, rationalizing skills will be able to decipher that WT policy is again not about protecting kids FOREMOST, but rather about protecting the organization. We can thank the internet for finally bringing this into the open.

This is not about some rogue elders here and there taking matters into their own hands, it's about an office in Brooklyn with some old men passing rules on for the underlings to follow at all costs. This therefore is not God's organization, for God has never instituted such convuluted policy anywhere ever in the Bible.

    Open your eyes Hilda.

    Hildegard of Bingen (A.D. 1098-1179)

    <
[From the Lucca Manuscript, lectured on in Florence by Sr Angela Carlevaris, 1999]

Hildegard of Bingen, and other women like her, such as Hrotswitha of Gandesheim (A.D. 932-1000) and Herrad of Landesburg, followed in this learned Benedictine tradition established in German-speaking countries from England, which gave women the status of Christian equality with men. Hildegard composed music and wrote treatises on medicine, on Benedict's Rule, a play, many letters, and visionary mystical works which she also illuminated in a manner that is deeply compelling. But, unlike Lioba, she was not a pleasing person. Until the age of forty she kept to her bed. Richardis, her friend and fellow nun, then persuaded her to embark on her career as writer of letters to the leaders of Church and State in her day and to compose her mystical treatises. When Richardis left her to become an abbess at another monastery Hildegard was furious, demanding her return. Richardis, obediently, died. Hildegard ruled her monastery by means of tyrannising over her nuns with her migraines - about which she writes in her medical works and whose effect she illuminates in her mystical treatises. She is an example of a genius who is less than charitable. One admires her work, but not her desire for control. She has significant prophetic messages for us today.
