out4good & breakfast of champions:
With regard to this quote: "One of the elders would be assigned the duty of sitting down with each family head and go over the family tax forms for the past year."
I would only hope that people would tell them to go to f#cking hell if they had the colossal nerve to ask this! They have no authority whatsoever to even be asking this question and it makes me cringe that there are people stupid enough to answer this. This is the problem when you have an uneducated population. They don't even know what their damn rights as human beings and citizens are.
Well, it would seem that tithing is here for JWs, just like other religions. But, the sad fact is that the JW religion doesn't even deserve to be called a religion. They have no redeeming social qualities and offer absolutely NOTHING of material benefit to the community. At least other religions do!
I feel sorry for any remaining responsible working people in the JW religion and I hope they smarten up and leave! Then the religion will be only left with droves of useless people with their hands out.
What a sorry joke it all is. Glad I'm not there anymore!
Hey Emeth, there's an older sister in our KH who lives alone and doesn't have the £1400 to replace her old rotten windows. Can you think of a Bible principle or a suggestion as to how this could be remedied?
Doesn't matter - I'm sure a request to the Britain Branch will solve the problem. Sorry to have bothered you!
In summary:
Now Jehovahs Witnesses believe in the Rapture. . . . but they don't call it the Rapture
And they believe in tithing. . . . . but they don't call it tithing.
As a side note, I told my wife about this letter and she is very impressed with my predictive "powers." Over a year ago I told her I thought they might implement some sort of tithing arrangement, and she thought that was impossible. Looking at it from a business perspective though (which no JW does) it only makes sense as your base shrinks in developed nations and is expanding in poor uneducated countries.

exactly
all one has to do is look at everything from a business perspective and nothing the WTS is doing comes as any surprise.
- name changes, eliminating DO's, internalizing RBC's, donation arrangements for tax purposes, "free" mortgages that really cost cong's indefinitely, renting CA halls 52 weekends per year, streaming talks, JW.org, tablets & ipads at the KH instead of printing books, reducing mags, thinning mags, videos only online, no more hard covers, etc.
all these things are BUSINESS decisions and have NOTHING to do with god or preaching or anything theocratic.
- shorter public talks make some KH's capable of having 4 meetings per day instead of only 3,
- no book studies free's up lots of KH time where book studies were held at the KH and makes books last WAAAAAY longer for studying. Now they only need to print a book a year or less instead of 2 or more. Or brochures for that matter that may take months to complete instead of weeks the old way.
It's so easy to see the changes coming when you see the BOrg for what it is.... A BUSINESS!!!!!!!
@the searcher i can only speak for myself and my own congregation, but we help eachother out, even financially or with food, material and even shelter if that is necessary. We do that as brothers and sisters and most of the time in private.
We dont use and dont need Kingdom Hall funds to do so ,but use just our own money.
@CBG in my country there are no widows without pension. And we have a say about our money but also have the same goal and purpose all over the world. We are not a local organisation but a worldwide one. Therefor its only logic that the money will be used to serve our common goal and purpose.
Strange thing is that apostates are worrying more about where the money goes than those witnesses. Let me remind you... its not your money...its theirs
The anonymous survey is sneaky. First they lull the JW into a false sense of security and get them to commit to the anonymous survey, then each family head must participate with a futher survey. Tithing is happening slowly but surely. Very incidious.

It's a good way to flush out many Saphira's and Annania's.
Here comes the secretary with his inkhorn crying out loud, "Show me your income tax statememnts so I can place the mark ($) on your foreheads" Following him will be 6 MS's with baseball bats There mission is to crush those not displaying the mark.
" Strange thing is that apostates are worrying more about where the money goes than those witnesses. Let me remind you... its not your money...its theirs"
Yes, you are right. Of course, most active witnesses can't think critically; they are too controlled to ask critical and skeptical questions about 'mother'.
And now it's not theirs either, it belongs to Corporate; they now have the 'opportunity' to support the effort to build more buildings, and remodel kingdom halls that don't need it.
Your kingdom hall's 'loan' is 'forgiven', only to be replaced with an equal amount of payments that are in perpetuity.
The WT is perfecting their Orwellian doublespeak; money commitments are 'opportunities', permanent financial obligations are 'offerings'.
