As a parent of 4 children I encountered the "You do it too" argument all of the time.
It is a childish argument and it is no less childish for adults to use it.
Just because some people engage in a questionable behavior such as mocking or ridicule has no relevance to whether the practice deserves our acceptance.
The real problem is that such a childish argument usually sidelines the real issues.
There are 4 types of laughter (I believe Eric Berne discussed this in Transactional Analysis).
Ha Ha - Ridicule
Ho Ho - Benevolence
Heh Heh - Deceipt
Aha - Joy of discovery.
We want to get people to discover truth so they have a "reason" to change.

the use of ridicule comes under the "abusive analogy" heading in argumentation.

There is room for humor in arguing but it should only be used to relieve tension

The Borg is deserving of being appropriately mocked and ridiculed. If we want to turn this site into a 'proper' debating forum then all 'proper' debating rules will be followed, not just a few cherry picked by those who lack a sense of humor. And debates are essentially about 2 things: Facts and the Correct application of Facts. Opinions, thoughts, feelings, beliefs and shallow, tepid one dimensional, prejudiced knowledge or 'factoids' aren't acceptable. Since that isn't practical, and since it would render the theists impotent, let's just try to all get along. I'm a wise ass; that isn't going to change. The best we call all hope for us to contain me.

It really depends. If you are with fellow ex-jws or apostates, it's certainly fine to mock the WT society. They deserve it
However if you are trying to debate a point with current witnesses and trying to point out issues and inconsistencies, mocking is the last thing you want to do. It will immediately weaken your position, and it will shift the attention from the point you are trying to make, to the perhaps disrespectful way you are addressing something active witnesses take seriously.
In my experience it's actually better to be stern and go as far as calling the GB liars and the organization a scam than to mock them and try to make fun of them.
