Have you noticed that the default answer for every question is that God is currently doing nothing. Proof of everything is somehow reduced to the absence any and all action.

Saving this to watch this evening. OTWO, great points made, love your logical views.

It's not my intention to be unduly critical of the Bible and those that believe in it unequivocally.. (how can I criticize what I can not prove or even comprehend?). I'm just sad and confused that I have so very little if anything at all to build my faith upon. My study and experience of the Orgites has left my faith all but completely demolished and in tatters. I am left with nothing but total uncertainty.

I'm tired and weary of books and writings of the words of men claiming to be truth on any matter at all when there are as many different truths as there are people on earth.

Really not sure where to go from here. I have reached a dead end.

I understand what your saying dismember because I have some of the same thoughts. How can we believe in what can't be proved (or possibly what could be proved, if God made a way)? And even if we could figure out what is in fact truth, where are similar, like-minded people to associate with. Sometimes I think it was better being oblivious to these simple truths. At least back then, I thought I was happy.

Now, if you make yourself truly known, our loved ones think we have gone crazy, gone off the deep end, or are being controlled by Satan and his demons. They don't really understand the true issues at hand. And if they did, they would no doubt be just as messed up as some of us are.

I have been exactly where you are. Don't think in terms of, "where do I go from here?" You don't have to go anywhere. You are free now to live your life anyway you choose, without the worries of influence of men or what faith you should have! When I came to this conclusion for myself, it felt as though I was clear headed for the first time in my life and a ton of burden had been lifted. If you have to go somewhere, go enjoy your life! It's not a "dead end" it's the beginning!

I can relate to that feeling for sure. After deconstruction, I set about asking myself what makes me really happy? I enjoy community, creating, teaching. So I do those things. Not all of the things I do are logical. But then I'm not entirely a logical being.

Let's be careful about statements like this. First of all, as I think you realize, we don't actually know that anyone ever had a true encounter with the divine. Furthermore, we don't know that all people living right now have not had an encounter with the divine. All you can speak of is your own experience and what other people have told you. And if you talked to certain people, they would absolutely tell you that they have experienced something supernatural. There's a few on this forum who make this claim.
Secondly, we don't know that the rate of claimed divine encounters has changed at all. The Bible contains a collection of such experiences that span a couple thousands of years of history. There are people in India right now watching a guru perform what appear to be supernatural feats. There are people having visions. There are people seeing Jesus in their toast. The only definite differences between Bible times and now is that no one is writing new Bible books about their experiences, and that you live in a more skeptical society than anyone in Bible times did. You therefore have no basis for saying that "nothing interesting happens to people anymore".

You can only know what you have experienced.

It sounds like you've reached an open field. Only someone who believes there must be answers would view it as a dead end. Why must there be answers?
