there is plenty of evidence of design to our human body

I have spent the past 10 years reading about the wonders of biology.

In biology "design" simply refers to the corelation between form and function.

Our bodies are awesome but there is absolutely no evidence of intelligent design, and tons of evidence of bad design.

Our bodies are awesome but there is absolutely no evidence of intelligent design, and tons of evidence of bad design.

And this is a great example of differing opinions on what constitutes evidence.

It has nothing to do with opinions, it is about facts.

You are making an assertion that there is plenty of evidence of design in our bodies. Assuming you are using design in more than a simple scientific sense, the onus is on you to show us something in our bodies that cannot be accounted for without resorting to an intelligent designer. You also need to explain the examples of sub-optimal design in the human body.

Facts. We both agree on the need for facts, which can establish so much. Let's not hijack the thread, Cofty.

It is entirely on topic. It is the about the foundation of our most important beliefs.

You look at the details of the human body and lazily conclude that god-did-it.

I look at the complexity of living things and it moves me to research the details of how biological systems evolved through unguided processes.

My way leads to more and more wonder and awe. Yours is a thought-stopping dead-end.

Anybody leaving the watchtower should commit to an evidence-based worldview and repudiate faith as a lazy substitute for thinking.

Cofty, you decide that only you can define facts and evidence. Purr can make up Purr's mind about it. You can now go on to hijack the thread by yourself.

Is personal responsibility for one's own spirituality that scary? It shouldn't be.

You have to get over the hump of being void of responsibility. JWs, Mormons, and the like place the burden of spiritual responsibility on the ORGANIZATION... not on it's individuals. The individuals are only requied to follow the organization, not god, jesus, or the like. That makes having that cushion VERY scary. It's like ANY decision where you are the one who must decide something... and if anything f**ks up, everyone blames YOU. It sucks.

But once you break free from that fear and embrace the challenge, then anything is possible. Everything good, everything bad, and everything in between is there JUST FOR YOU. If you want a replacement cult, so be it. If you want just some fresh air and some quiet time to see what floats your way, so be it. Whatever you want, it's yours.

This is what many would consider, THE FUN PART.

FlyingHighNow: Regarding the phrase "If grace is true why God will destroy no-one". During a sermon a couple of weeks ago our vicar said "Jesus came to save the world, so today he would be planning to save around 8 billion people." As a jw I eagerly, almost desperately at times anticipated the demise of those 8 billion people with an awful relish - the love and grace of God expressed through this one sentence shot through me like a lightning bolt. I silently thanked God for forgiving me my jw past - when I even PRAYED DAILY for it to happen for over 50 years! My God, we've come out of a truly evil cult.

I understand. I was a natural universalist as a young child, even. I recall sitting in the KH thinking, "I don't understand, not really, this need to destroy so many people. "
