You made some interesting points in your post. I can remember being a kid going to meetings in the 60’s where halls were cold and damp. We had to endure 4 or 5-day assemblies with evening sessions. The growth was phenomenal because the org was dynamic, the end was coming and had set a date for it. The world was in turmoil, the cold war at its peak and there was a domineering Eastern block. We JW’s were grateful not to be persecuted like our poor brothers in Eastern Europe, Malawi and Cameroon. There were plenty of scare stories, don’t miss meetings because what would happen if Armageddon came or an announcement was made about it and you weren’t there?
But after 25 years of growth and continual guilt tripping the org ran out of threats and dates. I noticed by the mid 1990’s that the rot was setting in. I started questioning a lot partly because the “generation” idea changed. I met an old acquaintance last December on a trip to the UK. He confessed without any questioning that many local JW’s were depressed and lethargic mainly because of the “Generation” change. A lot hang on because they don’t know of anything better and vainly hope that the WTS are still correct in all that they claim to be.
It’s not just the young that are leaving but I imagine they are a big part. What does the WTS offer them? A boring life of sitting through endless repetitive meetings telling them how bad it is in the world. Their “worldly”™ friends are enjoying life, travelling the world and/or holding down good jobs. And then there is field service! It must be difficult going up to a $400,000, 3,500 sq ft home, passing the Lincoln Navigator on the drive and telling the home owner how bad the world is, what a nasty place it is and asking them if they would like to live in paradise instead. Things aren’t like they used to be, the bogeymen have gone and final solution got postponed. Sure, there are plenty of problems in the world and being part of making things better could be a real incentive, but the WTS attitude of do nothing but sell books hardly inspires anyone. It’s the lack of inspiration and a lack of a good a cause that is killing the Watchtower.

I have another theory. It's seems like there is an organized effort to almost eliminate the "inactives". How many inactives on this board, from all over the place; have talked about recent "visits" and other forms of pressure? Could it be the Society is trying to pull them back in, and instead; are ending up pushing their own numbers down?
Clearly, the GB knows that "inactive" can be used like a loophole to maintain contact with family and friends (an open channel for "outside" information). With the wealth of info. online, they could see this as a threat. -

The truth about the matter is, you are both Liars, of the lowest order. Both of you. And you do not have a clue about what you are talking about.
You are just making your "routine," malicious slander, without any proof of any kind as always. All you need to see, the name "MDS," ... and you just jump right in there, without having any facts of any kind.
That's all I have to say on that subject. But, I would like to mention this,

How would you know about my conversations with "Logical", privately? How would you know?
We communicate DAILY...daily.
And, our conversations are always, PRIVATE and CONFIDENTIAL...
I think that is all that really needs to be said on the matter.

There is definitely a decline and the Society is scrambling to recoup the losses, this is not just in your area but also here in the USA.
I have been in touch with many Witnesses and this is definitely a trend and the thought is that something big is about to happen, but no one as of yet can put their finger on it!
This reorganization has left the Society open too so many problems, and with the GB having no REAL authority other than spiritual, what is to stop anyone of the newly formed corporations from retiring them of even spliting?
Three things can happen, the Society tightens its reign, it stays the same or it goes mainstream ala Worldwide Church of God, wither way schisms are bound to happen.

Fact: Larc, myself, and many others see a sick young man who goes by the handle Logical who needs plenty of uplifting and encouragement from fellow humans (and perhaps some medication, but who knows with the adverse effects that his previous meds had on him). In the chat the other night, YOU came into the room and asked him how his latest JW study went, and you only stayed long enough to find out what his scriptural argument to them would be, then YOU LEFT. YOU WEREN'T AROUND TO HEAR LOGICAL SAY "Where is MDS?" "Why doesn't he come back?" One can only speculate where you were, but you definately weren't there for him. He even told me himself that you "didn't stick around long enough to find out" how he was feeling.
All you need to see, the name "MDS," ... and you just jump right in there, without having any facts of any kind.
I have my reasons to "jump right in there", as you say, and you could find those reasons out if you just asked Logical, because I have told them to him.
Now, go on an ask him. If he tells you TRUTHFULLY what I told him for my reasonings of distrust/dislike of you, then I would like to see you come up with a scriptural reason to demonize me for CARING FOR ANOTHER'S WELL-BEING.

2. Will you accept the assistance of the elders to get you REACTIVATED
if the answer is yes a pub/pio will be assigned to work with you so you can become active again
but if they answer NO to any of the questions above
the elders will let them know that the FDS has instructed them to let the person know that he has by his Actions DA himself and the congo will be informed
reason being ----- EITHER YOU ARE WITH JESUS AND HIS ORG OR YOU ARE AGAINST JESUS AND THE ORG
this way it will scare the He!! out of alot of inactive jw who still view this as the truth but are inactive
and others it will be the straw that breaks the camel back and they will get the TRICK OUT

I have been contacted by my mother recently. She had never questioned my faith before, but now she is insistent(sp?) She wants me to put into writing my faiths and what I don't believe about the wtbts. I have to hand it to her she did try to preach first. So imagine the shocker of someone not asking for 8 years then insist I put it in writing? My other inactive sisters got the same phone call.
Something is definatly up!
