Another note to A_Rev: We are not your enemies here - newcomers to this board are welcomed unquestioningly, provided they are sincere, which you seem to be. This is unlike the JW boards, which will not allow you to join them if you don't adhere to their criteria.
All we're trying to do is help our fellow human being, see? Once, just like you, we were in the Organization too. We saw a darker side to it.
Please use that mind of yours while you still can - there is still time! Don't commit yourself to this religion for your entire life without doing at least a bit of a check on it! Start with it's early history. There are plenty of resources on the bottom of this page. This is the stuff that the Elders don't want you to know. Maybe it will help you get closer to Jehovah.
We're holding thumbs that you will allow yourself to make an intelligent decision in this regard. Keep your mind open, and you will prosper. We're always here to chat, and I'm glad that you're still talking and haven't just flamed us and left. It takes a lot of determination for someone in your position to do what you are doing now - I know I wouldn't have been able to do it at my age just before I got baptized.

How do you (as a current JW in good standing) explain the recent discoveries in Africa? Or the recently proven ability to create a living virus out of simple molecules (IE., 'life' from 'non-life')?

oh yes you have. The answers came from people you trust, so you trusted them to give you good answers. They didn't, and you haven't wised up to it. For that matter, you don't WANT to wise up to it. After all, if you wise up, you lose your family and friends, right? Not to mention your ability to trust.
