    Zol,

I first starting searching the internet to get back to the org also. Then, thanks to all the information over the net, I realised why the JW's always warned against the internet. They are not stupid. They know that there are people out here with information on past jw teachings. I always wondered why we were not allowed to check ouk the old books from the Kingdom Hall library. Now I know. They didn't want us to see for ourself just how many times they have changed their teachings.

Don't take our word on anything. Go look for yourself and you will see what the Org has been trying to keep secret. Just like the Bible says.....there is nothing done in darkenss that isn't brought to light.

ok..i may be wrong in being so protective about the org. i have read the bible and every other publication released by the society.the only reason i do not go to the meetings is because im not allowed to by the people im staying with. im an international student in the states.despite that, i still miss the organization as i have been to a lot of other religious meets. so if i am supposed to see the light, which organization or 'church' have you people found that you consider to be the one?

    HI Zo,

Can you tell us why you haven't been to a meeting in three months? Why are you weak? Just tell us what happened. Excuse me if you've said it and I missed it. Maybe if you give us some details, we can be more helpful.

    the mistakes of a few

That what I was told before I became a jw. When I did my research years later and found proofs that it wasn't just "the mistakes of a few", (in fact the whole organization from the top ( the President of the Watchtower) was in it), they admitted they false prophecy and I was to ingnore it.

They lied to me. They deceived me. Now they are destroying my family.

And don't tell me I shouldn't get upset.

i stopped going to the meetings back in kenya because i could not handle all the rules and regulations. maybe i am just not mature enough to.but i don blame the org for that.im blaming myself and my weak selfish tendencies. im glad to hear that everyone here is happy being away from the organization. i jus think that im not seeing the whole picture here.

    Zole,

In my opinion, there is no true religion. I too have been to almost every single religion there is. None of them teach the same thing, but they all claim to be the true religion.

There is a verse that I have repeated often here on the forum. It is a verse I came upon while flipping through the Bible.........1st John 2:27 "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will [5] abide in Him."

The WT always said that without them, we could not understand the true meaning of the Bible. But the Bible itself says that all we need is the Holly Spirit to teach us. Who would you believe? The WT or the Bible?

With all respect, I have to disagree with you. I did not leave the truth. I left an organization of men. I did not leave because I wanted to indulge in "physical pleasures. I left because I discovered through PERSONAL RESEARCH that what I was taught was not correct. I left because my conscience would not allow me to continue to profess belief in something I felt was false. I left because I was living a lie. The conscience that I was given told me that someone was playing with my mind and my God given free will. We were all created with free will- it was given to us for a reason.

Why do you beleive that you are wrong? Obviously you have doubts, otherwise you would not have stopped attending meetings. Do you beleive you are wrong because you have done thorough open minded personal research into the questions that you have and have discovered that you are in error, or are you drawing your conclusion based on everything you have been told regarding the evils of independent thinking and going against the organization, or because an elder is telling you that you should feel horrible for allowing yourself to question the teachings? Guilt is a horrible thing to use as a motivator, and extremely damaging when misapplied. I think that if you really read the bible, sans watchtower, you will find many instances where people questioned God himself and were not considered evil or rebellious becuase of it. Research for yourself with an OPEN mind. Try to put your fear of man aside long enough to do a thorough examination of the mountains of information available to you. If you can do open minded, thorough research, and still draw the conclusion that the witness way of life is for you and that your doubts are in error, then by all means go back - that is your decision and you will be employing the free will that God bestowed on you. Those on this forum are employing the same free will. The organization of men have caused a great deal of harm and pain to many on this forum, and that is not to be taken lightly. Many have lost family and friends, not because they are evil or wish to go out and live immoral lives, but because they simply disagreed with the teachings of an organization, not God, an organization. That is an important distinction.

Your opinion does matter, all of us matter. We are condidtioned to beleive that salvation is earned by meeting attendance and field service and never ever questioning what we are taught, when the bible clearly states that salvation is a gift. Gifts cannot be earned. I hope that you are able to find some peace and real answers to your questions.

zolensky said all you critics of the truth are blaming the organization for all the mistakes of a few. humans are not perfect....... that doesnt make the organization bad...it makes the people in it bad.

Well, I'm not sure what planet you're from, but you obviously are not thinking straight. The "mistakes of a few" are major mistakes made by those who claim direct contact with God. You think Jehovah would approve of pedophila, or of the promotion of false doctrices, like 607 BCE, 1914 or 1918??

And unless you haven't noticed, the Governing Body IS the organization - there's no difference. This organization is made up specifically by the will and doctrines of these men in Brooklyn who run the entire show.

Wake up and get you head out of the clouds......

    Wait!

Just because you do something for yourself, that doesn't make it 'selfish'!

Not every thing in the organization is good

Not everything in the world is bad

Not everything the Watchtower says is true

Not everything the world says is false

You seem to swing between extremes in your thoughts. If you find any church

full of loving people you can trust, you've as much true religion as you need.

    Zol:

I have been out of the JWs about 20 years. For me, it happened when I was nine years old. I read Darwyn's book "Survival of the Fittest" <which I borrowed from the KH library>; and I was forced to assume leadership and care of my four brothers when I was only 9 years old while my Mother went out in service. For me, believing in God was always easy.. it was the RULES accompanying it, described by various churches, that made me sour on it. It also made me crazy with chaos. I finally just decided to visit different churches and take the best out of all of them.. and to stay where I felt most comfortable and cozy. For me, I fit best with the Baptists, and that is where I have been since. I think all religions are a key to God, but the place you will FIND God is in your heart after you read the Bible.
