All religion has scandels. They are man made. An unpolular comment to make here- but one I feel is true- is that the WT works well for some people. Just like Catholism works well for many. From where I sit you comments are welcome here just as all others are. You will be hard pressed to find anyone on this forum or any ex-jw forum that will agree with your statements. I am glad to be away from the organization. I do not hold any hosility or anger toward the group and I do not consider them any worse or better than most all organized religions. Like the mormons they have a stict set of rules based upon their interpretation of the bible. If you feel they are well suited for you I wish you the best. I would question, like others here, why if you feel they are right would you spend your time on such sites as this?

You say there is a lot of hate in our replies, zol, & that we think we are better than the Jws. I would suggest you go to http://www.silentlambs .org & read the guestbook starting around april or may of this year & tell me who sounds more hurt & who sounds more hateful. I know I was shocked & surprised @ some of the statements coming from so called JW's, having been raised as one, & having problems w/ their doctrine, but I never remember such hateful language. Also, so as not to sound like a total hypocrite, yes you will come across some fairly angry rants written by me, but I am an outspoken guy when it comes to abuse of any kind.

The facts that I have posted are rarely ever taught in main stream Christian churches. They simply do not want people to know. The ones I posted are only a few of the similarities. Others are even more astonishing. There is also Dionesis (sp?) of the early Greeks that has some of the same stories told about him, again, way before Christ. If the Christian religion followers knew how many of their beloved stories and myths were derived from the Hindu religion they would loose millions of followers simply from the shock. Most people accept the truth about what they believe because it was taught to them just as their native tongue was. It is all they know and much worse, all they want to know.

I personally do not hate you, I don't know you. I do know how you think. I was once programed to think the same exact thing. The difference now is I do my own thinking. You still have twelve men from Brooklyn doing your thinking for you. Write the society and ask them about what I posted before. See if you get an answer. They do not answer questions about these facts. Trust me, I know those who have done it. What you say you are doing wrong is not wrong to you personally or you would not be doing it. It is wrong according to the twelve men in NY who you "think" are right. If you want to believe that or not is up to you.

zolensky, You said that you came here hoping that people would "steer you" back to the organization. Did it ever occur to you that that is exactly why you can't "steer" yourself? Because you're always allowing or looking for someone else to steer you? It's your life! Don't you think that you should be the one at the helm? And why would you think that you're in a position to judge or give advise to anyone? You can't even "steer" your own life, why should anyone think that you can tell them which way to go?

Im all for you going back, the sooner the better. If you hurry, you can avoid Christmas altogether. Be sure to return all of the Christmas cards and or presents that you may have received thus far. You may also want to tell the elders that youve been naughty and not nice by virtue of visiting sites like this one. No sense in not having a clear conscience if you are sincere.
Needless to say, youve a lot of work to do if you want to get yourself back on-track. Better to suck it up and get busy. Be sure to keep everyone here informed as to your progress, although I dont actually know how youll go about doing that as you probably wont feel like posting here any longer, once youve been reassimilated.
I sincerely hope that you and your entire family will be happy once youre back "in the truth". Keep telling yourself that six million people cant be wrong. I bet it helps.

Do not blame yourself. You might be seeing only "supposedly" good side of the Watchtower. But remember that the witnesses show you the bad side of other religions and only the good side of theirs. Look into the bad side of the Watchtower and the good side of other religions, too. If you are a college student, you should have some brain to think FAIR. Fairness. I don't know about you, but I was taught about the Communists when I was young. They, the Communists, used to say that Americans were poor and horrible and that only within their party(organization) and with their leader(s) one can achieve true happiness. Sounds familiar? If you had any doubt, you were to study more of the party (organization), and if you still doubted, you get marked and shunned or even punished. When many communists visited the western world, they saw what they had been taught was not true. So many of them defected even if that meant risking their lives.
zol, I see the similarity here. The Watchtower is getting more like the communist party. I got chill whenever they made us say that the only true friends were within the organization and that we need to distant from our family members who were not jws. Have you seen any jw working at a Homeless Shelter? Or any charity work for less fortunate ones? None. They don't believe in those.
I found out about their Sexual Abuse policy within the organization and their history of false prophecies and other things, not to mention their moral conscience. I had to stand up for what was right. I did it for me, for other people who may get contacted by jws and for my future children.

Well, then, hang around Jehovah's Witnesses long enough until you get the whole picture. Then compare reality with the picture the Watchtower Society paints. See if they are the same. That should help you make an informed decision.

Zolensky, I know you are young, so I am making allowances. Consider that not everyone here is the same or believes the same. You said,
the witnesses may have done a good job on me...but the job the world has done on a lot of you out there is even worse. instead of blaming the people in the organization, all you critics of the truth are blaming the organization for all the mistakes of a few. humans are not perfect, and a few hide behind the mask of being witnesses when they are wrong. that doesnt make the organization bad...it makes the people in it bad.
There is no all you here. This is a discussion board. All are welcome, but everybody has a different opinion. Come out with a criticism about all you posters out there, and you are going to get a reaction.
