My personal belief is that abuse survivors do not necessarily want to talk about abuse all the time but want to know that people understand and can talk about it if they want.

If lambsroar.com can carve it's own niche for itself then that'll be great, but without the affiliation of Bill Bowen and the link to the forum from silentlambs will it get enough traffic to become a vibrant community? It'll be tough, but I will definitely pay a regular visit.

At this point in time that would be the question. I do want to say that I am certainly not trying to compete with Bill in any way. I just don't agree that the forums should not exist. I expressed this to Bill, but he thought otherwise. I'm merely keeping them 'alive' so to speak, so that those that wish to utilize them, may. So, I guess we'll just have to watch and see.

Well, since Simon and Rev are getting along fabulously now, maybe Simon would be willing to put a tiny little link to LambsRoar at the bottom of his website where all the other xJW sites are listed (like freeminds, etc.)???? Simon, whattaya say?????

One thing I, personally, feel relieved over is that now we can post links to threads at JWD at LRD and links to threads at LRD at JWD, etc. I completely UNDERSTOOD Bill's reasoning for not having the xJW links all over the silentlambs site/forum and supported it even in a thread here the other day and elsewhere, but it's really hard to live in that tight box. Probably anybody surfing, even abuse survivors, if they have the guts to find silentlambs, then they may not be too "put off" by xJW links in general, maybe???

(LRD = LambsRoar Discussion Board, I guess the acronym will be LRD -- sounds like LORD or LARD, LOL!) No offense Rev, just making a jokie!

I am sincerely curious why Trauma_Hound thinks it's such a bad idea to keep the LRD?

Also, Simon said survivors don't always want to discuss only abuse, and that is true. We like to read all the funny JW-Life stuff and other topics. Of course, I hope the porn and profanity will not be allowed because of the way the former Silentlambs guestbook got taken over by some really nut casis (ardent JWs maybe? who knows who they were, but they were NASTY!)

As gilwarrior mentioned, there already was a BLOW OFF STEAM section of the forum, where all sorts of anti-WT stuff had been posted and still remained. I didn't necessarily see any ugly fights about it there yet. But if BB was worried about that sort of thing hurting any current-JW-abuse-survivors feelings, then I think all the more better this "split" is. With silentlambs.org NOT associated with a forum, then he doesn't have to feel responsible for what is said there.

And, let's say the LRD does NOT become a big site for JW's in general. It can still be a forum for abuse survivors of any kind, any religion or whatever.

ok, so am i understanding this correctly-there will be no link between the new discusssion board and the silent lambs org? I understand bill does not want to be responsible for the content on the board-but a link would be good.

Also, it will contain much of the information found at silentlambs as well. Information of course that is not copyrighted by silentlambs.org, unless I hear otherwise.

Hi Rev: Maybe (when you have time), you could put a disclaimer on LRD that the official silentlambs organization is not responsible for the content of LRD, or that SL is not affiliated with LRD or whatever the correct wording should be.

Because I intend to still post all SL-type-news in the forum and I hope that is OK with BB. You know, all the same stuff like I've been doing since my days in the old guestbook, such as: Bill's informative emails he sends around via his SL List; etc. I am thinking he will NOT mind us doing that since I would think he would like all the exposure he can get. But, of course, I could be wrong. However, that is how I will proceed until I hear otherwise.

BTW, thanks WEDS for amending the title to your thread! making it a positive!
