    Trauma_Hound:

Thanks for responding! I understand; I sympathize. A fully signed-up member of the Hacker Club here. Der Rick isn't wrong about everything.

    1. From what I understand, Bill is not that computer-technical. Cybernetically, he's a tool-user, not a tool-crafter. Bridging the interpersonal understanding gap can be problematic. The amount of work required to make sites, set up DBs etc. AND THEN KEEPING THEM RUNNING SMOOTHLY is something most underestimate, till it bites them right in the a$$. Which is exactly why one can't leave it right till then.

    2. My sincere suggestion is, as I doubt any contracts have been signed by him as yet with A.N.Other Inc., you contact Bill offline as soon as possible with further samples of your work, so he has no reservations as to your competence or ability. Sell yourself.

    3. I suggest (reading between the lines) that Bill may be concerned that the SL cause may be let down by those he works with, because of interpersonal issues with him developing over time. Bad comms. Abrasive comms. Misunderstood comms. Escalation. All easy given the instant but permanent medium we use. He has been on one side of a few, shall we say, contretemps involving ex/anti JWs since his brave coming forth. The ex/anti's have hit him as hard as has the WTS, he may feel. He may believe relying on an "outsider" with whom the relationship would be strictly professional and impersonal may be "safer" (as in more reliable, to ensure SL on the web continues smoothly). Now, these may be perceptions. Work around (don't ask me how... I am trying to be constructive here, but I do not have the answers) the reservations, born of experience (and where he is probably at least partly at fault), that he may have on this issue. This is all easier with voice contact. If this done, there is still no movement, ask him "Why not, Bill?"

    3. Bill may well have issues with delegation matters, and with sharing/dividing responsibilities. As a wise poster noted above, the City of Seven Hills was not constructed in half a fortnight... attitudes change.

    GOOD LUCK, T_H!

I did a little bit of searching on JWD. Some trolls aside, I find I have directly criticized Bill more than virtually any other poster (I listed things I did not like in one of the RF-related threads I started), and have done so more explicitly than anyone in this thread. But I feel my relationship with him is fine. That, to me, indicates that Bill is NO dictator and NO demagogue, as neither of these types can tolerate criticism. Bill DOES accept criticism, but sniping, nitpicking and back-stabbing turn him off. . Bill, I counsel you to - at times - sit on your hands before reacting.

I think Bill is a big guy, and has had to deal with things most of us prefer not to have to think too clearly about because they are SO distasteful. OK, now shoot me down, folks.

    Quotes worth remembering:

It's a shame that these people have been used, abused, kept quite most of their lives, just to
come out here and do it all over again. I'm not proud to say this, but not afraid anymore to say
it. He worries me. I don't want to get bashed here, but I am just expressing my feelings I've had
for a while now. Is silentlambs REALLY for the lambs? I mean everyone is upset by this and Mr.
Bowen isn't flinching a bit, he's not wavering and he's not even giving answering us. At least the
WBTS answers us! We may not like the answer, but they ALWAYS give us one. So what's
    happening here? -- RevMalk

    ==========================

Human emotion is a strange thing. An ego can be a healthy thing. Having one can allow you to
confront issues and problems head on and soar to heights not possible without that level of
confidence. But an ego that continues to grow unchecked becomes unhealthy. If it continues to
grow it begins hurting instead of helping and we can begin to think of ourselves as the only one
    that can do it.

I'm not familiar with the Silent Lambs discussion board. I've only lurked there a couple of times.
But it would be a sad thing if an unchecked ego and a micromanaging level of control would
derail one of the noblest causes in the history of Jehovah's Witnesses. -- Big Tex

I'm not saying those within the organization are a lost cause, I am saying just the opposite. It's
time to quit trying to chop down the tree from the top......it will get you nowhere. Our only hope
is to hit that trunk, the 'pillar' that holds the Governing Body so high. The trunk may seem strong,
but it's only made of weak R/F.....pick one piece off at a time, and eventually the tree will fall,
and if it never does? Well, if we save one child along the way, whether they be JW/ex-JW, or
'worldly', it's all been worth it. Revvy Rev

Mostly, I wanted to post to RevMalk.

I don't remember posting to you before, so as far as I know this is the first time we've spoken. I've read some of your earlier posts in other threads where I mostly lurked -- back when you had the turning cross avatar -- and wondered about you. I held my opinion about you and lord I'm glad I did.

I just want to say, RevMalk, that after reading every word of this exemplary thread, I've come to the viewpoint that you are a fine man. An exceptional man, really. I think your heart is huge and your motives totally genuine. It has been something to see and I don't say that often. Wish I could see it more than I have.

I hope good things continue to happen in your life as I have no doubt they already have. If you still believe in God, may He bless you and your family. You're a good man.

    TeeJay,

Thank you for the kind words, however, I really haven't done anything special. I'm glad that you agree with me on some things though, I certainly like to see that! haha, it's much better than being told I'm wrong, which happens MUCH more often, but hey, I'm human, it's bound to happen. As far as this thread and other things I've done and said recently, they're really nothing out of the ordinary. I hold the same ideals and values as the next guy (well, most anyway). Besides that fact, I've simply pointed out someone else's faults, and shortcomings. Now if I were doing something about all this myself, then you might just have a point.

Thanks for the vote of confidence though, it sure made my day!

I read all of this in one read and now I have a headache.

    Matt, thank you.

To everyone who has helped those who have been hurt, thank you.

Bill thank you as well. But, the issues here are bigger than one persons perceptions of the way it aught to be. People will always do what they think is best. Alienating everyone who does not do it your way and you will wind up alone. And you can not do this alone. Again thank you I respect all that you have done. But we are only at the end of the begining.

Do I stand alone when I seem to see a lot of "WT" mentality. Do it this way or that way as I say or else.

Who is Silentlambs.Inc? Who controls it? Who is in charge?

Maybe there is some communication problems going on, Revmalk, talk to him on the phone, I'm on the e-mail list, and I have gotten none of his e-mails either.

Just wanted to add my simpathy's here. I think we may have crossed paths once or twice and I wasn't realy sure how to...hmmm, sum you up? But I did read your entire post and I have to agree with those here who recognize your hard work and efforts and it's truly a shame that you haven't been given more respect, as you your self have freely given.

plum . wondering if it's suppose or supposed
