Whats the dumbest reason youve been counseled?

  • Cracked a joke when a sister ordered a glass of "Blue Bols" and i said "O, I get them on the bike sometimes when its cold"
  • And then there was the time in the back of a crowded car full of bros / sis, an elders daughter sat on my lap because there was no room. I'm 20 shes 19 and pretty, sat square on my lap whilst I'm wearing thin cotton trous and we're driving down a bumpy country rd. The obvious happened and I'm sat there thinking "NOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" and there's this elders daughter thats just a friend sat there on my lap with a bit of me poking into her bottom (I'm sat here cringing 20 yrs later ) I got grassed up for it even though it wasn't my idea and I'd been completely embarrassed by the whole thing.

  Many time I have been counsled for studying to much. The last time i was counsled teh P.O. said that my biggest problem was I studied to much and made the other Elders look stupid.

  I was told I needed to "dumb my comments down, because they are going over people's heads." AGGHH!

  Needless to say, that elder got some counsel from the Scriptures.

  Finally-Free

  I was counselled for a lot of stupid things, but the worst was for biting my fingernails. I was informed that biting fingernails was a bad habit, and that it is demonic to be enslaved to any habit.

  This is a GREAT thread!

  I can see that y'all needed some stern counselling for your nasty demonic habits, studying too much, writing too neat, answering up too much, wearing ALL the wrong clothes, getting boners when people sit on your knee (tee hee), taking your shoes off at KH, having big pokey outty tits. JEEZUZ, what a bunch of reprobates you all are!

  The stupidest thing I got counselled for was

  1) going on a day trip with a lad having a bible study and my pioneer friend. He drove a Lada and it broke down on the way home from Scarborough, and we had to wait 5 hours for the breakdown man to come and change a fuse! We were counselled for being alone together. How can 3 of you be alone??

  2) wearing a coat which apparently was a MANS coat, but the only way you could tell was that it buttoned up the man way. In fact the elder admitted he couldnt tell and neither could anyone else, but he had gone and looked it up. So I was wearing a mans garb and was therefore disqualified from pioneering.

  PS I love the pokey nipple thing. In fact my sisters got some fake pokey nipples from Ann Summers that you wear in your bra to give that exact effect! (cos we cant all carry ice cubes round with us)

  I once got counselled by an elder because, he said, he heard my older son say that he hated Manchester City (a soccer team across the other side of Manchester. We support their biggest rivals, Manchester United). I was aghast. The elder then went on to say "We don't hate anyone, do we, so I thought I'd mention it for you to deal with."

  The elder was a big-head (he later got disfellowshipped for adultery, running off with a Ministerial Servant's wife and leaving his own wife and three kids behind. He's back with his wife and kids, but he got the other girl pregnant and now she is back with her husband).

  Suffice to say, my son denied even saying it (I wasn't bothered in any case) and his sisters and brother also said he never said it. I DO KNOW that that particular elder didn't want me to progress, so.........................

  If only people knew what went on insie JW congregations. It's worse than the soaps!

  My Husband(fiance at the time) was counseled for putting his arm around me during the meetings. They said it could stumble younger ones, and those who have worldly mates. Other couple who were getting married were counseled for the same thing.

  Then when we called them up on it saying it was a personal rule. They denied they ever said it.

  I swear to god ....one of these day's I am just going to go nuts...walk in the Hall and give everyone a piece of my Mind!

  The dumbest is when 2 MS came over to my place and read a few verses in the bible to me, and tried to pass some kind of message, and I never understood what they wanted. They just turned round and round not telling me what exactly they wanted.

  When they left, I had no clue why they came for and what they wanted to tell me, indirectly....

  I got counseled in a dumb, cowardly way once.

  I had tLotR in my dvd collection and a brother saw it. After an elders meeting he then brought up about a brother that he saw with it in his collection, and was asking the other elders if he should counsel him. Then there was a long dialog about walking trees, and goblins and such. I just sat there quietly and didnt say much as I knew he was talking about me.

  hahaha he counseled me in front of the brothers without anyone knowing who he was talking about. (makes chicken sounds)
