I think ppl fail to consider the context here. We have a guy who's constantly foul-mouthed both the members and the owner of this board. It's wonder that he even chooses to post here anymore, since he's one of the most vocal critics of the ongoings here. Fact is, the tone of Amazings thread addressed to him was hardly inflaming. Most of the posters ignored any reference to TH and urged Amazing to focus on his health and to ignore any nay-sayers. The dude's reaction was way off base and typical of someone with a chip on their shoulder just waiting for an excuse to go off. He's a grown ass man and that type of behavior shouldn't be tolerated here, because it wouldn't be tolerated elsewhere.

That may be true E-man, I must admit I didn't look at the dates, BUT, there's a simple solution to the big old mean "F" word. Ban the word.....it's that simple....LambsRoar doesn't allow the word either, but I censored the word out globally, it makes it much easier to handle.
Also, I do recall a time when you asked me to remove the word from one of my posts. I was quoting someone else. I did remove it, as you asked, and you thanked me, and asked where I quoted it from, so you could take care of it. I told you where it was, and it remains here to this day. I must admit, I don't know what you meant by 'taking care of it', but since it wasn't removed, I can only assume it didn't mean removing it. My post was censored, but even though I was only quoting someone else, theirs wasn't. I certainly won't speculate publicly, as we can see where that gets us, but I have my ideas as to why it wasn't removed from the original post.
Also, the fact that Amazing is able to still post on this subject, and has locked TH out from his email, I don't see where any of this is fair. The guy can't even defend himself, yet we're still here to talk about him. It's giving Amazing, and everyone else the chance for the last word, and I don't think it's playing fair.
I would also request that TH's personal information be removed from Amazing's post. As I noted earlier, I believe this is a clear violation of the rules, but maybe I'm assuming again.
I'm not here to take sides, and I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong, or right. I'm just pointing out the obvious and stating my opinions. I'm speculating here again, but it seems as though this was an easy way to ban the guy that rubs us the wrong way. We need opposing ideas and views here, and banning TH appears as though we're trying to control the thinking process around here.
Why not at least put it to a public vote? That's about as diplomatic as you can get. This site might belong to Simon, but IMHO we should all have a say in certain things, as this board is an influence in the lives of all of us.

Neither is swearing!Believe it or not, I said that on purpose. Just like most ppl do. If Simon or any other moderator chooses to edit it out, I won't cry about it because having that one little word removed doesn't take anything away from my statement. TH and a few others could learn a thing or two from that.

I think I would have locked Amazing's thread before any of the mess got heated up. I think there should be a standard for the moderators to follow. Maybe something like if a post is inflamitory, vague, and meant to start with the flames, or bait someone, then it should be deleted and the thread locked. NO MATTER WHO STARTS IT..Especially if it can be caught early and difused. Perhaps the thread wasn't locked because it was from Amazing AND/OR because it was about something untoward that TH might have done/some here would rather see him gone. ????
Valis,You make good suggestions. Me? I say: if you're going to moderate, then moderate. Don't moderate some and not others for doing the same thing. Most people don't respond well when it's blatantly clear that they are expected to hold to a higher standard than others.
Make no mistake -- Trauma can be a jerk and we've had our go-rounds as well. I finally decided to overlook his juvenile "go 'f' yourself" in the spirit in which it was said and not expect much more from him. As far as what happened between Trauma and Amazing, though, IMO Amazing was mainly in the wrong and this thread says as much. Before he was banned, TH could have responded more maturely but he wouldn't have said what he said if Amazing hadn't gotten the ball rolling in the first place.
IMO, TH was placed in a no-win situation as RevMalk eloquently showed. Disputes are supposedly best handled privately, but when TH took that route Amazing first rebuffed him then "called him out" publicly. What would one in TH's position be expected to do? Since TH has been banned and can't respond, this very thread is, to me, patently hypocritical and unfair in the extreme since TH is in the position of not being able to speak up for himself. That's wrong.
Should the thread have been locked? I don't think so. If anything, it should have been removed from the board completely and Amazing should have been either a)admonished to rewrite his message without the personal affront toward TH, b) take it to email, or c) let it go since it *was* a month-old issue.
Since none of that was done, TH should have been allowed to have his say. THEN lock it.

Lets get some facts srtaight here people.
Trauma Hounds was banned because of his abusive behaviour and not for any email to Amazing. He has consistently been abusive and pulled up for it several times. I have no reason to believe that if he is let back on again he will be any different.
He had every opportunity to answer Amazing's post in a reasonable way but instead, and as always, chose to become abusive to all and sundry. Even then, I gave him a chance by warning him that such posts were acceptable.
What did he do? He decided to become more abusive and when his accounts was naturally deactivated he went on a spree of creating even obscene and insulting account names, posting more obsceneties and abuse and posting my personal information including our full name and address.
In addition to this, I have several times received threats from him by email and also deleted accounts that you haven't seen. All in all, he has caused me extra work that I don't need.
In the middle of all this and dealing with multiple accounts he was creating, he starts whinging that he said "nice things" to Amazing and his posts were edited or deleted to make him look bad. I naturally assume that he was refering to his original account so checked the history and found nothing. After this mistake (because I saw Englishmans post), and admitting this mistake, I check and find the one odd comment he made (I suspect to try and redeem himself after his earlier outbursts) which was made with one of his abusive accounts. So no, he was not setup or victimised. And what do I get for my trouble? Him and his pals jumping up and down accusing me of being some deceptive liar which I am not.
I do not intend to let Trauma Hound continue to waste my time and abuse me and others and keep coming back as though nothing has happened. I have been willing to forgive and forget before and he does not appreciate it.
You can vote all you want but I can tell you now, he aint posting here again. He has well and truly burnt his bridges.

Perhaps some of you should go and re-read what happend:
No-where in any of these posts are there justification for the things he came out with.
Also, there is nothing in the first thread that justified it being locked ... except when TH decided to start posting what he did.
