America always turns a blind eye to the sick old man of Europe. Most Americans have absolutely no idea how hellish the Turks treat Kurds, or even their own people. I still don't see how a country that has state-owned brothels staffed with female prisoners was admitted to the EU.

I was refering to what happend last time the Turks went into Iraq and met the Kurds (their 'arch enemy' so to speak).
However, the Turkish troops going into northern Iraq is here and now and seems to be an escalation. I hope it doesn't all kick off with another mini-war going on.
What next? Iran invades Iraq? Israel? ... oh boy ...
The Turks don't want an independant Kurdistan state. They might just be sending troops there to make the Kurds realize that they REALLY don't want an independant Kurdistan

According to the CNN broadcast I heard this evening, the U.S. is requesting they NOT entire Iraq - they said it would "gummy" up the works & make things to confusing...so I'm not sure that this will be allowed.
But you are right - if this is allowed to happen, this will be a huge blunder on the part of the U.S.
I think we're finally gonna that the big nuclear slugout over there eventually. Everybody is gonna get involved and nobody is gonna back down.
So, do you think this just may end up being world war lll?
