the apostates you are acting against the directives of the Society and the God-appointed Faithful and Discreet Slave and it's Governing Body.

Again, I search for god and serve no such society. Doing so would be idolatry.

I am not using curse words towards any individual, I only am using alludes to such words for emphasis as I am passionate about what I speak.

What is my purpose? No purpose... just conversation. I ask real quesions... questions that are in my own mind as well, I even question my own thought as each of us should... and I would like to see how others respond.

Oh, trust me, I have many more.

    Anotherpointofview,

I can see that you are having to fire on the run, which I understand, it must be difficult being the Lone Ranger with so many evil Redskins at your throat….lol

I was requested to answer "questions" from Hilary's post, but I see only one. would by your own definition be worshipping a useful God - do you believe that they are? My answer : And then? Does that really, really matter? We are all in a search for a meaning, a purpose in life... in that search we may come across doctrines, cultures and ways of life that we may either agree with or disagree with. Our own searches lead us down our own life's paths... plain and simple, if you dont like the WTS... Get TF OUT ! If you do... STAY. Not to dodge your question... do I believe... sure.... why not... doesnt mean you have to.

Once again, I asked you to address an issue, not just answer a question. Why you choose to put the word "questions" within inverted commas, is a little puzzling, perhaps I am having a senior moment, or more likely, perhaps you are having a junior moment!

I presume from your answer that you feel that those who have like yourself, prayed and found healing within their own chosen religion, are as valid in the eyes of your God as any other religion? ( This *is* a question…lol ) Do you believe in false religion? If so how would you identify it?

You ask, "Does it really, really matter". Well it will to you as you seem to accept that other religions have some validity and this is not acceptable to the WTS. Which means that you will remain an unbaptized publisher until Armageddon, at which time you must hope that the God of the WTS accepts your catholic view of other religions….lol

you are acting against the directives of the Society and the God-appointed Faithful and Discreet Slave and it's Governing Body

So what about your baptism question? When you answered yes to:

    1985

    (1) On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?

    (2) Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization WT 6/1/85 page 30

Or were you baptised before 1985?

    1956 through 1984

    (1) Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ? 2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit? Watchtower July 1 1956 page 407

    Or:

    1942

    (1) Do you believe in Jehovah God the Father, that "salvation belongeth unto Jehovah", and that Christ Jesus is his Son in whose blood your sins are washed away and by whom salvation comes to you from God?

    (2) Have you therefore confessed your sins to God and asked for clensing by Christ Jesus, and therefore turned away from sin and the world, and consecrated yourself without reservation to God to do his will? Watchtower Oct. 1 1942 page 302

    To answer your question:

I learnt that I have a personality that is easily attracted to cult type organisations because I like everything put in a box, neat tidy and no questions to be left up in the air. I learnt that Jehovahs witnesses accept nothing less than absolutes. I learnt that men (Elders) can be given power over peoples lives, family ties and happiness and this totally corrupts them. I learned that Elders are often wrong in judicial cases and yet pray for gods holy spirit to direct them, then make their decisions based on their belief they have gods spirit, then rip families apart, siding with the male member of the household because he was in fact the one who gave them the contracts which provided them with a living. They had holy spirit? yeah right!

I have seen so many corrupt judicial cases! They do NOT have gods Holy Spirit I am sorry.

    Hilary,

Good point and good question, coming from an absolute point of view. Sure there is "false religion", but who is truely to decide that but God (Jehovah) himself? are we in a place to do that? no. Each of use will feel that we are in truth, but to believe what we think we know is absolute is rediculous.

I prayed, and had been praying for quite some time. Now this is me, what I have to do with anyone else doesnt matter, nor pass judgement against. I myself fell as though I have been lead to where I am at now, and tommorow I may be lead further. What exact direction that takes me is not for me to decide. See, I gave up in my own ability to decide or "know" what is truth, only through praryer do I ask God (Jehovah) personally to use me in his will, Wether or not he chooses to do so is up to him.

Please, let me know if you feel I have addressed your question. My answers come from the heart.

    Blackout -

So what about your baptism question? When you answered yes to?

I was baptized as a Witness of Jehovah... a witness to his works, I HAD dedicated my life to him. I, through my actions broke that. I was not baptized as a member of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society,... no... I was baptized and dedicated my life to the service of my god and to the witness of him. To answer your question... I was baptized in '95.

i learned that to be a christian, you dont have to be part of a religious organisation.

I learned that it is dangerous to follow someone else's beliefs just because they claimed to be from God.

I also learned to be an honest person, to respect my parents, and to love my fellow humans. My expression of that love differs from what the WTS teaches, but, so what.

I learned that I MUST have my own relationship with God, unbiased by what others believe.

I learned that even the most intelligent people can be brainwashed.

I am unsure what your motivation is in posting, and, of course, there is no need for you to explain it to me. I just wanted to point out to you that it's a bit disconcerting for you to go off on tirades about the WTS and imply that those of us who vehemently disagree with them and their teachings are "whining" and talking about "emotional crap". There are many, many people on this board who have been deeply hurt by the actions of the WTS, and this board is a place of comfort for them. Please, feel free to disagree (we love an animated discussion), just please respect the feelings of others.

Again, welcome to the board, you certainly have "stirred the pot" as you intended.

I apologize if I have come accross as offensive in any measure.

Let me clarify "emotional crap"... For people to say "hey <that> is a horrible thing" based on what, emotion, perception or fact... and "fact" based on what viewpoint for explination. I believe for someone to "feel" something requires emotion, but for someone to force those feelings onto another and say that the other person is wrong per sae I believe is ethically wrong. Emotion in such statements should not be part of acusations.
