Say that someone has a handicapped child. The J Dubbs religion promises that in the New System
these kids will walk and jump. Ofcourse this is what everybody wants.
My oldest daughter who is a dedicated Witness lost her child and the WT promises that she will see her again.
I just think it's a way to keep them in the religion.
"The New System is right around the corner. Hang on, keep hoping."
It's a very dirty way to keep someone in the Troof.
Playing on their emotions. The GB knows this and they play it out to the end.
Many have become victims of the WT that way.
I remember going from door to door meeting people who lost a dear one.
You give them hope about the ressurrection which is only a few years away.
I hate myself now for doing that.
Never again.

This DB is filled with people in varying stages of leaving the org. Some are just beginning to have doubts and have decided to check it out. Others, most of us, have had some really bad experiences with jws. to negate someones experience and call them whinners is telling someone they don't have a right to feel.. We have the DB so we can express our feelings, somethings we werent' allowed to do in the org. It hurts to be shunned and have your family turn agaisnt u over a religion, and we get to say so here.

Well after reading through this thread I have but one thing to say:

It is better to come to a place and expound the experiences and whine than to go take a gun to my head.

Before I came to terms with what was done to my 3yr old concerning his molesting and the elders abuse of it all I was guilty of loving my child before a religion. The guilt of leaving a religion that condoned the abuse, was all I knew.

Loving brothers and sisters who had left the organization who were disfellowshipped showed me the way. They cared about what I thought and felt and never once said I was a whiner but encouraged me to rise above it all and leave the bitterness behind. With out their helping arms I would not be here today.

Now in my book, they cared, they loved, they showed it. They dealt with my torn heart and my bitter spirit.

So before all you say things that would be considered labeling or hurtfull, sit and think about the pain that others have suffered in silence and still suffer. Feeling there is no way out. Think about the ones who didn't make it, the ones who have ended their lives because the guilt was to much and there was no support for them all.

As far as the name goes on the site, like it has been said, they come to our houses, if they come online and come here that is their problem. They always have the right to go back out the same door they came in. It is their choice to sit and read.
