The only famous person i have ever met was Edwina Currie, at an awards ceremony, i had a coffee with her in the canteen. To my surprise i found her to be a very interesting person.
To all the non brits, she used to be a well known Member of Parliament who had an affair with John Major before he became Prime Minister. In fact she must have been having the affair when i had coffee with her.
My girlfriend went to school in Shropshire, near to the Lilleshall complex. All the England football team schoolboys went to her school.
Watching Match of the Day with her is like going down memory lane with her...her ex boyfriend is Jermaine Defoe, she used to hang out with Michael Owen, Joe Cole, Francis Jeffers, to name just a few....Every time we watch Match of the Day someone new comes up who she remembers from school.

I worked on a Kelsey Grammer flick and he was really nice, just got to say hi to him.
Myles Goodwin of April Wine - met him a few times.
I also got a big smile and hi from Kiefer Sutherland at the Atlantic Bowl a few years back - what a hunk!
There was a country singer - man, I can't remember his name, who was at one of the local clubs after his concert. Anyhow, I was there with a few friends - we had been at a dance. He sent his bodyguard over to ask me if I wanted to go back to his hotel 'for a drink'. I told the guy I wasn't a hooker, and didn't go to motel rooms with strangers.
Then my friends were "do you know who that was?" I still can't remember his name - he has blond hair, always wears skintight jeans. Greasy, imho. Not Alan Jackson, but ... whatshisname? He sings very honky-tonk style. Oh well, I'll think of it. Okay, it was Dwight Yoakum (sp?) ICK.

Let's see, I met Senator Ed Muskie back in 1968 (he was running for Vice-President at the time). A bunch of us in the Model Government Club (aka geek heaven) got permission to leave school for the afternoon and go to where he was making an appearance. We met him as he was entering the building and got to shake his hand and chat for a minute. The whole incident took less than 15 minutes, then we went and goofed off for the rest of the afternoon.
I also met Harry Chapin after a concert at Smith College, got to shake his hand and get his autograph.
And for the art buffs among you, Alexander Leydenfrost was my uncle (well, by marriage, actually - he was married to my great aunt until his death in 1961, after which she came to live with us).
