Alan F's post touched on all of my concerns and then some. Excellent post Alan, and good points made by all - including waht has been said about their practice of baptizing young people, and how this weirdo used such logic to his own prupose.
Mind of a JW Pedophile--How Would You Answer (From Silentlambs)

The failure of the elders to report this to the authorities stuns me.
If this had been reversed.... a "worldly man" who had preyed upon an eight year old girl whose parents were active Witnesses, I wonder then if they would have told the police/social system and the parents. If the eight year old told them, would the fact that the state doesn't require reporting come into play?
Good point.

Lady Lee-What I was expressing in my earlier post (besides my own anger) was the sincere hope that his victim (and all other victimized children out there) would find her own power, and become a survivor instead of a victim. If, however, the wronged party is unable to exact revenge-and of course I mean through the courts, not through violence-this guy's karma will catch up to him eventually. If there is justice in the universe (and believe it, there is!) this guy will have an awful life and will know no peace until he makes amends. I truly wish the best for the little girl, and hope that she has a supportive family around her to help her heal. I apologize if my earlier post was too curt to make these points clear. I was furious at that pedophilic freak when I wrote it, and was less than eloquent.

Insomniac - understtod Thanks for the clarification
My personal expereince with men who think like this?
Thney get away with it. My father never felt a moment of guilt for his actions his entire life. He died being abusive to everyone around him.
When I was 11, I reported him to the police. We went to court and he got a 3 yr suspended sentence and a $50 fine - for 3 years of sexual abuse. Oh and he lost legal custody of all his children.
Poor boy. He just went out to find more victims and fully believed he had a right to hurt others and they had no right to complain. No guilt. No remorse. Pure male privilege.
My step-father was never reported to the authorities thanks to the elders. He too never felt a moment of remorse and went from one victim to the next. My sister (his daughter) met him years later. He was still selfishly abusing all those near him. She was so desperate for a father but she left him finally realizing she would never get what she needed.
My only hope is that if they don't pay in this life then they will in whatever comes next.
Preferably they should rot in jail because they generally never change.

Pure male privilege.
LL, I understand where your coming from, but I personally take offense at this phrase, although not towards you using it, if that makes sense. HE was not a man, but scum. Pure scumbag privileger maybe, this guy has no right to be called a man, or even human. He's a monster.

Hello Insomniac,
-this guy's karma will catch up to him eventually. If there is justice in the universe (and believe it, there is!) this guy will have an awful life and will know no peace until he makes amends.
LL has already given her experience as what happened to her abuser. I'll give mine. The predator stayed married to the same woman, stayed in same job, raised 4 kids, had a very nice house, and lived a long life. He actually had a plaque on his front door with two doves on it saying "Love Resides Here." He still could be alive - I just realized that it was wishful thinking of mine to picture him dead. Southside Indianapolis.
I don't think it ever occurred to my father to make amends. Nor the above man (they were predator friends - amongst other things). Why should they? It wasn't a question of right/wrong. They wanted it.....they did it. They knew they were breaking the law. That's the point - the law didn't apply to them.

yup waiting - they are perfect examples of how manipulative they can be.
Denial is entrenched. They have no remorse nor accept any responsability for their actions.
Most people think they are great because of the facade
If only they did suffer a bit the real consequences of their actions like we had to

Yes, I received this letter from SilentLambs in my e-mail. My reaction to the e-mail was sickening, disgusted and wanting to throw up.
I felt it was wrong to dump this letter to all those who are subscribe to SilentLambs No follow up to the letter. Kinda like dropping a bomb. It felt re- victimizing all over again. Am I the only one that feels that way. I question what purpose did this serve??? Am I off base??

I think SL is doing the job they must; if you think you were outraged at getting the email, I sat through an assembly day today, complete with an arrogant, self-righteous talk by Weinsbarger (sp?) from Bethel. All that talk talk talk about serving with a complete heart, not missing meetings (he said that you just have to wonder about the heart condition of someone who makes just one meeting a week, I guess I should just wash it up.) SIX FREAKING MONTHS for assaulting a small girl, and back into the congregation. It is just baffling. Even more baffling is how much the average dub still thinks of themselves and the self righteous clique they belong to.
